All we need is proper intra-town security. Ie braziers with better targeting and full control over town members' permissions (the fact that citizenship grants vandalism rights is the main reason saboteurs are so OP).

As for theft, I still hold that it should be possible to do it via stealth, ie not getting hit by braziers at all. Destroying stuff would throw out all pretense of stealth, of course.

That would be cool if it worked :) But still I would love to see them put it so you can not totally destroy structures. That would give more reason to buy materials and spend money. Plus people are proud of what they build, and to have it torn down just deflates ya. I know the pride stax and the other had of Gallows hill when I was there. And while in the end we did not see eye to eye when I left, I can only imagine how much it would of sucked to see all that work torn down.
I Was not even a member anymore and I felt bad. Gotta be a better way.

Indestructible stuff in sandbox feels wrong to me. Maybe if it were reduced to a pile of rubble instead, that could be rebuilt at a discount within a certain timeframe before it disappears. But I don't really think that's needed, all we need is for destruction of something to take an equal or greater amount of manhours it took to build it.

Both of those ideas are cool. At least it is not a total loss. And yeah tearing stuff down is way to easy. Some of the big structures should take literally hours to set and beat on before it came down.

Staring at your character beating on a house for hours doesn't sound very fun to me. The back and forth running for crime debuff even less so. What I'd really like to see is consumable items used to destroy stuff, like gunpowder barrels or assorted witchcraft stuff. Then you could directly balance cost of construction and destruction, by observing market prices of the items that go into both.

+1 ...and the "splash damage" is already in the game code.

C'mon lets be realistic! Even for a perma-death mmo there needs to be sane limitations. Nothing should encourage you to spend far too much time developing a character only to lose it to a lack of judgement one day.

Can we have at least one thread that isn't a bragfast? If you've read Snowpig's post, you know that this is completely irrelevant because discussion was about increasing manhours needed to destroy stuff, not how it works currently.

I was replying to

Which implied that destroying stuff takes waaay too long. (so my reply is relevant)

I am not bragging and it's pretty easy to gain those stats, even with current low % tier 3 food (a 20% tier 3 cabbage cake for example gives about 150 points in bbile)
I play 1-2h / day IF I play; don't tell me me this is unrealistic & too much time consuming !!! (You're just lazy & have a lack of planning)

There's a huge difference between bragging and laughing with someone who's unable to reach an obviously easy task !
