IMHO after gluttony priority should be placed on town features. Salem fails big time on having a social dimension, because there's no tools to organize communities and saboteurs are ridiculously OP. You can't expect people to create societies here like in real life when the environment only bears a superficial resemblance to RL environment.

Potjeh, how can you build a city or society when you have people like the chief and others who sole purpose is to greif ya and tear everything down?

Well, just getting the diagnosis would be interesting enough, we can argue in C&I about what the treatment should be while we wait for you to prescribe something totally out of the left field.

@Argost : Tribe/Darwoth/whatever is not an issue to the game. They're an issue to the community, and I don't think devs can do anything to leash them -and that's not really their job neither. That's ours, buddy :)

I wont deny that hehe. But there has to be some happy medium for allowing cities and towns to grow and thrive. People are just not interested in building up a whole town just to have it wiped out in a few hours by a player/players with ungodly amounts of health. Never understood why they di not make it so your house and plot can not be destroyed. Raided sure, but not destroyed.

You can't build an open recruitment city because infiltrators are OP. If you could, open cities could somewhat mitigate the threat of griefers because they'd get good defences out of their sheer size.

IMO, the Tribe really won't be that big of an issue once enough players are here. Right now, they're pretty much the only faction around because anyone else that has formed a faction has quit over various bug issues or other problems in the game. Hell, when they had competition from Gallows Hill, it was some fun reading. I wanted to join one side or the other just to participate in the shenanigans, but never could make up my mind.

Also, the Tribe doesn't do anything that you don't see other major factions doing in open PvP games. After all, if you're playing to control your space, shouldn't you drive out your enemies and keep your allies close? Plus, the Tribe does something that all real life governments do--collect taxes. If you don't pay your taxes, you get your stuff repossessed. While a real government may not destroy it, it might as well be as far as your concerned if you didn't pay your taxes.

Totally agree, I wish there was an answer to all this. Short of making it so property can be damaged but repaired and not destroyed. That would at least let towns have a chance to grow even after an attack. But I am not even sure they could code it that way. I am no devolper heh.

Magicman I understand what you are saying. And I was part of Gallows hills way back when. Not sure if you remember me from back then hehe. But I Was there. I left in September I think. And a few months later I think it fell apart. I have wanted to come back to play for a long time. But right now I do not think is the time. To easy to lose everything. I am not against getting killed, just having to rebuild all the stuff on your property is what sucks
As for the chief? Heck he tried a long time ago to trash talk me out to fight in him in town one day. I just laughed and logged out. I understand what he does is fun to him. But he is gonna run out of fun when no one wants to play anymore :P

I think the incentive to steal stuff should be higher than to destroy stuff. As i interpret several postings from raiders, at the moment it is far less troublesome (scents &c) to destroy stuff than to loot it.
