I assure you that I do not.

Then my question to you Jorb is why on earth are letting this great game die a slow death? Why are you not trying to get the word out as well as clean up the forums from the garbage that goes on? And why are the updates so slow? You have spoken about horses and witch craft for a year or more. You have a fantastic game here but are really dropping the ball :(

Let's not attack the people who are charged with maintaining and improving the thing many of us depend on for our daily gaming enjoyment.

You guys have made an amazing game, and while many things are rocky at the moment, I hope that you take the time that's required to do it right (as you guys clearly care about since the game is so well structured thus far) rather than rushing out gimmie features like many people are nagging you to. Hopefully folks will be understanding of the time it takes to work with a complex codebase and be patient as you guys quietly chug through upcoming features. Pras!

It is not an attack. It is a valid attempt to get answers to questions that have been avoided.

I could understand if this so called "half-assed moderation" kept you from playing teh forums, but to say that it keeps you from playing the game is just ridiculous. Obviously if you are responding to polls on these forums, the "half-assed moderation" is not keeping you from playing teh forums, so how the ***** could you say that it's keeping you from playing the game, where moderators have absolutely no authority?

^this

As far as I'm concerned the broken mechanics did this game in. I could live with little to no updates...

but the broken mechanics make Salem unplayable.

Most new players I've run into barely even know the forums is a thing unless one of the players they've run into has been like "ZOMFGOSH YOU DON'T REED TEH FOREMZ>?!" Most games I play, even if I play daily for over a month, I never look into the respective forum at all aside from unintentional google results when I'm looking for specific information. Maybe the forums are so relevant because there are so few people that play so an individual's opinion is much more significant?

Either way, I have a hard time imagining that the forums would have any effect on the majority of humans in regards to whether or not they give the game a test play.

I have always believed that a good enough game sells itself.

as well as clean up the forums from the garbage that goes on?

The garbage is a big part of the reason that I sometimes stay away from the forums for periods -- I try to outsource the baby-sitting to helpful volunteers. I also don't like having a thousand different voices inside my head constantly, even when and if they may be saying things that are completely reasonable.

That being said I will be trying to wrap my head around some of the latest drama to try to evaluate whether or not I feel it warrants any changes in the administration.

And why are the updates so slow?

Partly because we have focused our efforts along different tangents, and partly because we have wanted to lay the game aside for a while to get some distance to, and perspective on, it. We generally try to take the long-term view of things; a necessity, given that there are only two of us. What we have accomplished in the time we have worked on these projects of ours is, all things considered, none too shabby I don't think.

You have spoken about horses and witch craft for a year or more.

When I am silent, I err, but when I speak, I also err...?

The right course -- and how much speaking is speaking 'just enough' -- is not always plain to see.

No significant, major new implementation will happen before we have a food system that we are reasonably happy with, I don't think. Too much depends on that system.

You have a fantastic game here but are really dropping the ball :(

Whenever you drop a ball you pick it up and you try again. It's all you can do, really.

Thank you for caring. <3

To each his own. But I disagree. Maybe I am of the minority who cares what a game has to offer and does a little research about it before just rushing in? I am an old fart (45) And again I would say I am in the minority on that as well. Could be wrong and would be pleased if I was :)
A lot of kids these days, And yes I mean kids in their 20's. To me you are a kid at that age. And I do not mean it as an insult. Anyhow Kids these days seem to be more after the rush of griefing and just general douchebaggery. So yes I look into a forum to see what types are posting.
The forums were tame on this game to begin with. There were some posts trash talking and whatnot sure. But now it has become a pit of garbage talking punks, who in my opinion have no other outlet for their problems than I reckon this game.
And as long as the mods and Devs allow that kind of trash, then that is what this game will bring in. I have been around this game for a long time now. And while some aspects of the game have improved. The general attitude and running of the forums has not.

It has always been the desire of the devs to provide a place where even those that would otherwise be unwelcome elsewhere, would be welcome here. Those that rage, grief, and cause heartbreak to others may find a home in SeaTribe games. =)

I would be very surprised if it were more than two months away, but I don't make promises.
