Murder Bug in Town

Postby Claeyt » Fri Sep 27, 2013 2:33 am

So I've seen Darwoth agro and kill 3 afk people in town recently. I thought it was probably just him agro'ing his own alts and canoeing them into town then killing them while agro'd to them with his main. I didn't have the players kinned and I haven't seen anything here on the forums about it so it seemed like a troll. Now I've heard he proved he could do it again by killing a 5/5/5/5 test alt of a Candy Kid and also on a separate occasion did it to someone else's. He's apparently figured out a bug in the murder and stomp animation.

2 people have told me that Jorb is looking into this and that it hopefully should be fixed within the week. Is this true?

If Darwoth's refusing to reveal this bug I'd like to see his game account banned until this get's fixed so that nobody else loses any more characters. I haven't seen him in 2 days so I'm wondering if this has already happened?

As the river rolled over the cliffs, my own laughing joy was drowned out by the roaring deluge of the water. The great cataract of Darwoth's Tears fell over and over endlessly.

I know it's not going to happen but it would be nice if they put a rush on this. :D

He killed a barrel thief in Jamestown the other day and then bragged about how much money he has made from killing AFKers in Roanoke, so it does appear that he has figured out a way to agro and kill in town.

Nerfing the ability to murder on the town claims will only impede Justice. So far the only people that know how to do it are keepers of Justice so I believe it should stay the way it is.

Remember that trolling the bug report is against forum rules. We're trying to solve a bug. Report it or keep abusing it, your choice, but don't troll my bug thread with your *****.

As a mason I'd think you'd hold some sort of moral obligation to report bugs like this to the dev's for the good of the game. Knowing you like I do, you'll try and find it and exploit it for your own use. Please do the right thing as a mason and help the dev's find this and fix this.

I've pm'd both dev's and tried Loftar on IRC but haven't heard back. I've gotten reports from at least 3 other players on this and saw him kill 4 people inside the townbell of Roanoke by the eastern river. He only used stomp and murder to agro and kill so far as I know. He's been chasing me around trying to use the murder move on me before I can move out of the way for days now.

Can we please get some dev comment on this.

The Tribe reports all major bugs to the devs. Many of the more major ones have been avoided from them so we can only assume they are working as intended.

Well, you just said that you had used this bug on your previous post. Can you replicate it? Have you reported it or were you just trolling?
