I've been getting 'harassed' in Boston by folks wanting me to join their kin... and it's more than one person... but their name is always '???' and I never get any more information than that... or even the name of the Kin(s). Is there a toggle for anonymity?

I'm blown it off for the most parts... but most are threatening perma-death if I don't join a kin. What's annoying is there are lots of skeletons at the fringes (just outside) of Boston. Assuming that Boston is a 'safe' area... and everything else goes?

I've looked at that 'Groups' section of the Forums... and I'm not seeing how it's divvied up by 'Server' or Major township.

Second question- ties in with above... I'm wondering where I am on 'the map'; but walking out of Boston seems to be suicide. Is there a reliable map? I took the Guide at the beginning who ported me somewhere and then walked/wandered for a long time before putting down roots... twice. Just curious. And are all 3 servers essentially the same map... just called different names?

Always take a kin. There is a way to "memorize" players if they are not your kin and that will cause a character in town to align to you and allow them to find you and/or triangulate their position. The Tribe has killed well over 50 players this way simply because they dont' take KIN. If you are KIN to them they cannot do it. There is literally NOTHING bad that can happen to kinning people other than letting them know your name and of course showing when you are online. Kinning everything you see is one of the best ways to remain safe.

The maps are different for each server.

Is the 'area'... in my case it says 1230m... how many tiles I have claimed or is there another conversion? Assuming my upkeep is 8s/day? Suppose I'll find out tomorrow?

New question- Torch Post... I figured out how to add tinder... but I can't re-light the thing. Is it automatic? I'm not seeing a 'brightness' effect when I added tinder; only a grey 'cone' appears at the top. I tried using a tinder drill and then a torch; but it doesn't do anything.

Also, is there some secret (or obvious method) of setting down lifted material to line up correctly. I know how to position objects to be created... but stuff already made is beyond me.

Finally, is there a list somewhere (not on wiki) of what you can build inside a Mine?

1. Your upkeep shows in the bar directly under the square meters. The first half of the fraction is how much you've paid into the claim, and the second is the total upkeep for 60 days. Divide the total by 60 to get your daily upkeep, which is how much will drain from what you've paid in each day. The wiki has the formula as well.
3. When you lift the object, right-click it to be able to see what it will look like when you set it down. Hold ctrl to place it off the game's grid, which is WEIRD and I hate. Objects will always face you, so move around if you need something in a certain place and it's off-center. If you're using Ender's client, you can use ctrl-l and select an area to show the levelling grid which I just use as a regular grid for placing things evenly, and you can press ctrl-z to place an object in the center of a tile.
4. I highly doubt it! Is there anything in particular you're wondering about? If it's not on the wiki, just go in a mine and attempt to build it, or I can do it for you if you don't have a mine nearby :)

3) After right-clicking a held object you can hold down shift and roll the mouse wheel to rotate it's positioning. Instead of re-positioning your body like Lucidly mentioned. I don't know if that's unique to ender's client.
4) The list is on the wiki, under mine entrance (go to the bottom):

Depends on whether you're worried about an exploit more than people knowing when you're online. It's a lot easier to kill someone you don't have a scent on if you know when they're online. You can also tell when they've been inactive for a while and might have allowed any claims they have to drop.

That's also how you make wine, put a bunch of berries in a pot and spin it for an hour or so.

P-Claims take 2 months to drop. If you plan on taking a 2-month+ break you can always de-kin everybody then.

When......

When the tribe finds you.

Only yesterday did someone bother to share what the Treaty was... today is my 7 day Anniversary for starting a toon on Salem. I logged in about 90 minutes ago into Boston hoping to negotiate my survival... if possible... but not a peep in sight. Disappointing. If Dev's had bothered to make Tribe total and absolute dominance of the server apparent... I would not have played or spend 2500 silver [in Tribe's market]. That's said I'm willing to come to arrangement if possible...

If not... well you will find out when I do... and it won't be via forums or e-mail that I make it.

Thanks!

New Question:

I have seen many a claim... mostly abandoned claim.. .that I could enter...and interact with most of the objects there. Not saying I looted... but it could have.

Then I hit one today... Slava Tribu... and I could enter the claimed area at all. What's the difference?

One is personal claim...and the other is a township?

Note: I 'know' Trespassing... but not Larceny or beyond. Yet still I couldn't even enter the claimed area.

One is a town claim and one is a P-claim.
