3 months for murder;
2 months for larceny;
2 or 3 months for waste;

^ if I'm not mistaken.

It's 10x, so to be specific, it's 90 days down to about 45 days.

So really the issue is: Is the length too long or not long enough?

I can certainly see and agree with the argument that summonable evidence shouldn't last any longer than it takes for upkeep to drain out of claims just as a bit of a protection for those that serve in the military or other service that may have extended periods of time with no or restricted Internet access.

I think it's fine how it is. You have to think about it from the victim's perspective, imo. If someone kills them, or raids them, they may need some time to build up a character to get their revenge.

That feel when everyone in this thread realizes you can just move your lean-to once the map scent is gone and be untrackable after that.

45-90 days doesn't seem a bit extreme to anyone else? At some point even criminals need a chance to breathe easy. Life is hard enough in the colonies without having to watch your back for months.

If you are a criminal, you should always watch your back. 45-90 days is not forever, so I think its fully ok as it is.

No, if you don't want to have to watch your back for the next 90 days, don't commit crimes with that character. Hey, if it really was a statute of limitations, murder scents would never expire. 3 months is not that long.

What about battering a person to not let him steal any more stuff from your claim? Do you want to say there is a counter measure (or counter mechanic) to crime? (after the crime is committed of course)
