Colesie over-reacted. I forgive him.

I over-reacted to his killing of Rif Raff because I want to see the Arena stay a peaceful sparring place. I've since found out from both Binks and Dreth that Rif intentionally flaunted the rule. I don't know about MycroSparks yet but he seems to be asking for it a lot so I'll forgive him for that one also. Apparently the Katherine he killed was actually just a 5/5/5/5 troll alt of Ass Kracken. I talked to the mom of the Kathy I knew as a friendly nice person in game, and she said that she had died this last weekend and didn't know anything about the YGM day stuff. So, I repeatedly called out his scam kills and he wrongly banned me for it.

Although he was completely wrong in banning me, the important thing is that he agreed to talk to the Candy Kids about not using the Arena for scam-sparring kills anymore. I take him at his word that he won't and that he will hunt noob mask wearers somewhere else if YGM day continues.

Here's our in-game convo and I forgive him for his mistakes. He has been better about keeping his modding and in-game politics separate until this weekend. I hope he learned his lesson and goes back to what he was doing this last month with his modding. Unfortunately if you want to be a mod, you have to take some crap and you don't get to play the forum game.

Most things don't require any sort of intervention. I only really step in when things are getting nasty or if there are reports coming in that need to be addressed and Potjeh is more the same from what we've seen over the years.

While I agree that the thread was a pain to read, and I apologize for it taking me so long to get through it, I'd actually be inclined to side with Colesie on the decision if only for the fact that something needed to break there and ease tension in some way. Otherwise HoB is the place to get mad at things in the game and yell about it.

I will be leaving it up to you guys when I can but I hadn't been seeing much sign of life from any of you. I've been answering and closing all of the reports for quite a while now

Three questions, if you don't mind. There appears to be some inconsistencies between the green-texters, and I think we'd be better served understanding the thought process behind the judgment calls:

1.) Why did something need to break there and ease the tension - isn't that what HoB is for?

2.) If something needed to change, why did it need to be Claeyt? Coles could've just stopped responding.

3.) What is your stance on moderators moderating their own disputes?

Even HoB can get nasty; I'm sure you've seen some disputes that have needed a little bit of time to cool off before.

Ya, that would've also been fine. As long as everyone got some air.

I don't really have one. I've always just rolled with the official policies that the board has had for my lack of opinion on the subject.

That's why we can lock threads or throw them in the trash. In all fairness, this thing was mild compared to some of the ***** we've had in the past if not super long. I can think of a few places where people were calling each other every name in the book and then more or less declaring they're going to hunt them down and rape their goats or something (ok, I'm seriously exaggerating, but it was a step removed from that in some cases.) It's also why I usually would ban both parties. It's not fair to ban one person in a flame war and not ban the other. It doesn't really matter who started it when tempers get out of control. Everyone involved in perpetuating it needs a day or so to chill and think about what has been actually posted.
