It would be pointless to fight against it even if i wanted too as it clearly wouldn't come to anything so really there is no need ^^ but thank you for having my back

I agree that colesie didn't do anything wrong. I was simply trying to mirror for colesie the situation you were in. I called for you to be the judge because I suspected you would view the whole thing just as you have stated. You've earned my respect.

I'll never go there again, and I'll warn everybody about ever going there ever again, unless Binks or Alloin are there (and maybe not even that depending on how many people die this next week).

I'd like to (reluctantly) request a review of this ban by another moderator. I believe this ban was unwarranted, and in this case the moderator giving out the ban was personally involved in a spat with the banned party. Just because Claeyt is massively unpopular, and fond of speaking without thinking first, should not subject him to a different standard of moderation.

That is fine, another mod can look it over but I would also like to point out this general warning that was left before his final post which warranted the ban which I am absolutely positive that he saw

I've spoken to Claeyt ingame and I have decided to remove his ban for the time being under the agreement that he will no longer be repeating himself on a regular basis. He will be making a conscious effort to expand his posting habits and to only discuss things when they are still relevant.

I do still think that, moving forward, it would be better to avoid for a moderator to avoid moderation in situations where he is personally involved (barring extreme violations, of course).

I do agree with you there, however I am the only moderator left in 90% of the cases. Any moderation that is to be left to the other mods could take days, or even weeks to accomplish in some cases.
I do try to stay impartial but in some cases where I am directly involved in the thread it becomes difficult. A general warning was present though and Claeyt just happened to be the one to fall into it.

He is back now

There was absolutely no reason for the warning or for the ban. If you can't keep your head in a fight, don't fight. If you can't get involved in an argument without pulling out a banhammer, don't get in the argument. Do you really want people to look at you like they look at Burgi on the HnH forum? If Claeyt deserves a ban over it, you and a few others do, too.

If you think Claeyt is spouting so much BS, ignore it. If it's so derailing from the thread, don't reply to it, move it. I was off the forums for almost two months and have spent the last week or so trying to get caught up on goings on, and the last two days have been nothing but a huge headache reading through that ***** fest of a thread.

It's HoB, though, so as long as it stays on politics and doesn't blatantly violate rules, there's nothing to lock the thread over or ban/warn people for, 'cause I want to not just move the whole thing to the trash can, I want to light it on fire and watch it burn.

This is supposed to be the case. There's five moderators here and if one mod is too involved in the argument to make a clear judgment, it's not that difficult to ask someone else to take a look at it. Hell, ask jorb or loftar for their opinion. When's the last time Potjeh wasn't on the forum nearly every day? Teck? Until May-June, I can't say when the last time I wasn't on the forum nearly every day. Just because coles is the only taking actions doesn't mean he is the only one logging in every day. (Maybe that says a lot right there. Does nobody else need to take action because he's so on the ball or something else?)

edit: sorry, make that six! Forgot that sabinati is moderating again
I am a moderator. I moderate stuff. When I do, I write in this color.

Coles is on the ball 8-)

But nah, it wasn't me losing my cool in and argument and banning him for it
I issued a warning after several reports came in and it continued

I will be leaving it up to you guys when I can but I hadn't been seeing much sign of life from any of you. I've been answering and closing all of the reports for quite a while now
