Does that mean The Tribe knows where all the bases of their Treaty Payers are and can confirm/decline if a potential target is OK to rob?

Yes, the Tribe has a collection of All Treaty payers bases. Most we know the exact location of. Sometimes, the more skeptical Treaty Payer will send us a screenshot of their base with the Map blanked out. Either way we can still identify that base as a Treaty Payer (and most likely know where it is anyway as Mother Nature whispers to us the location of all settlers). So, if a Treaty Payer sends us a screenshot of a base they would like to liberate of its goods we can simply cross-reference that screenshot with the approx 100 Treaty Payer bases on file. If we don't see a match then they are green-lighted on the hit and only need to forward us goods taken from the base equal to the amount that base is delinquent on its Treaty Payment.

In short, every Treaty Payer has the opportunity to be a "Collection Agent" and many find that line of work to be quite rewarding.

After lurking about reading forums and wiki for a few days to decide if I want to play Salem, I came across this thread and read it, and I find I have two major questions that beg an answer before I decide if to play this:

Is this thread an accurate reprensentation of the way new players are 'welcomed' to the game?
And, Are new players even welcome at all?

well Kath, truth is, i didn't do anything, i simply implied a bit more crime would be fun and i even stated not to beat the tribe but to simply give them something to fight and give me a reason to fear it *To have fun*

Anyway... i was 4 days into the game kath and i didn't hide anything, i am an honest and law abiding person and i simply stated things as they were and i wonderd and questioned things, i didn't understand the server i went head first and i trusted people

I cannot speak for other servers but don't join Plymouth, the tribe thinks they are entitled to you paying them for nothing... the chief thinks he has a right for everyone in the tribe to make him 100 pies a week just to make him stronger and the fact is if you read the chiefs and read mine please just... i'm not arguing with chief as it is pointless, i wasn't going to comment in this thread at all and was going to leave it but you are new so i give you this advice

I know people that are new to Plymouth and they left after this and i suggest you join any server but his, join jamestown <-- just have fun around there, the chief is an idiot... really, everyone that isn't in the tribe knows it but they all liked the sheer entertainment value

I was honest and i said everything how it was but the tribe they lied and bent things... the screenshots are ripped out and they RP in a way that only makes it so they can win But Kath the game is fun, find some friends find some people to stick with and just because i got screwed over and lied to by the tribe, do not leave... a lot of people were rather harsh to me and it's true but the game is worth it... i got on all their bad sides and for the life of me don't know why as i don't feel i did anything that bad... i simply stated a rebelion and some fights would be fun, some action and it made me no.1 douch on game apparently*

So please give the game a chance, it can be fun : )

Mildly...but meh, I would have said let the guy go free, but that is because I could care less on the vote or how it goes. After all, in the end votes don't matter when the one in control of the situation is in change of what happens, this is simply show boating.
