Is this thread an accurate reprensentation of the way new players are 'welcomed' to the game?
And, Are new players even welcome at all?

If you act like JJ did than you will be treated like he was, but if you are genuine and a decent person this will not at all happen and you will be welcomed with open arms. Especially if you follow the server rules of the server you join.
Roanoke: Don't commit any crimes
Plymouth: Pay the Treaty
Jamestown: Make more than 10 braziers

Someone who pays the Treaty is not allowed to commit crimes against Treaty Payers. Now should a Treaty Payer commit a crime against a NON-Treaty payer then that isn't really a crime now is it? They are simply enacting justice against a proven criminal (non treaty payer). Now of course any action that would trigger the game to leave a scent must be registered with the Tribe and must be confirmed to be against a non-treaty payer base. Should you fail to take these precautions it is possible that a Treaty Payer could find themselves in trouble if they did infact harm another Treaty Payer.
