I can't help but think if he'd read the forums as much as he's posting on them none of this would have happened. Let this serve as a cautionary tale, one that is also filled with lols.

This is very true. As a general rule of thumb new players should read a minimum of 25 posts for every (1) they make.

I don't blame JJ for quitting. I stick around because I have low self esteem and I produce negative marginal utility for the rest of the world anyway.

After lurking about reading forums and wiki for a few days to decide if I want to play Salem, I came across this thread and read it, and I find I have two major questions that beg an answer before I decide if to play this:

Is this thread an accurate reprensentation of the way new players are 'welcomed' to the game?
And, Are new players even welcome at all?
