Alright I'll dig those numbers up when I get home.
I'm not a religious person, but I don't like to put myself into that "atheist box" or "agnostic box" or any "box" at all.
I really don't give a crap if they sing kumbaya in our schools now, but I can't see why "we" have to change our thousand year old ways because of a minority.

Converted in the 12th century and the Samis didn't convert until the late 18th century.

What's your opinion of the Samis by the way? They speak Finnish good enough for you?

Can't really say, they don't live here where I live.

Police Article

OECD Resarch
Things could be worse, I could live in Sweden x)

Here's a little something alarming:
Finland rape statistics 2012

In Short: 34% of rapes were committed by foreigners, when only 3% of Finnish population are foreigners.

Can't eliminate the prejudice without including the people.

All it's saying is that Immigrants receive 4x social assistance, and not much more of the other government spending. You'll notice that none of them are receiving pensions yet because they haven't been working in the country that long.

Nobody moves to another country to get social assistance. Ask yourself why these people are there. Why would they move to Finland? Nobody lazy emigrates to another country. Why did your country invite them to move there.

What's your solution? Do you want a Finland that's 100% Finnish, with no foreign or muslim immigration allowed? Do you want to kick out all the immigrants and revoke any citizenship they've been given?

Work to integrate them or they will always be separate. Be willing to change your culture, like hiring immigrant Police officers, or you will always be just "Finnish". Honestly, coming from America, I can't imagine how boring a country with only a 3% foreign population would be.

Crime is a factor of poverty, but their culture also needs to change radically in this case.

So they get 4 times more social assistance unemployed than a native one, why not the same? Where's the equality in that?
Everyone gets their pension if they work.

I have no problem with changing my culture too much, I just want them to go to work, or at least try to find work.
My solution is that if they don't learn basics of our language and laws in a certain amount of time their citizenship will be revoked.
And if they don't go to school or try to get a job they'll get NOTHING, just like everyone else.
If you are unemployed, you have to visit unemployment office regularly. They try to arrange work for you. If they do find a job, even if it's cleaning horse **** out in some ranch you have to go or else you'll receive NO MONEY from the government.
Immigrants don't have to go there. I think they should, just like everyone else.

PS. I don't have a problem with foreign Police Officer.
Why can't they just apply like everyone else and get in if they are good enough.

They're receiving greater social assistance but similar housing, unemployment and Family Assistance probably because they're receiving education and other integration assistance. I doubt the Finnish government is handing them 4x the cash.

That's a pretty shallow claim. Do you really think that they don't want to go to work, or that they aren't trying to find work.

I can't believe that the government doesn't require immigrants to look for work to receive unemployment insurance. They probably have greater restrictions to finding jobs (language, transportation, education, etc...) than native Finns, but they're still looking for work.

Again, why do you think they came to Finland? How much time would you give them to learn the language? Here in America there's no time limit to learning the language and customs. They're required to take a test on language and basic citizenship laws and history to receive citizenship, but they can take as long as they want. They receive a green card when they get here and can go to work regardless of language. All immigrants realize that learning the language is the most important factor to joining the country.

We also have recruitment drives of immigrants by the police and other government divisions that have to deal, face to fac,e with immigrant populations. It builds trust, it helps with language barriers, it helps the police to have someone who knows the population, and it helps the community integrate into society.

Clearly you don't want that for Finland.

I've said it before here, but I'll say it again: With each generation the immigrant population will become, more and more, part of Finnish society. Eventually by the 3rd or 4th generation they'll be completely accepted into the Finnish culture as a whole. They will have to change quite a bit, as a culture, and Finnish Society will have to change a little. Most importantly it will have to change what it means to be "Finnish".

What would happen to me, if I moved in to US and wouldn't work or try to find work?
