Salem Client by Ender

I can't make the Ender Client work today, and I've been away from the game for about a week.

I've updated Java, downloaded the default client and tried downloading and running the Ender client several times. The default works fine, but I'm accustomed to the Ender client.

When I attempt to log in on the Ender client, I'm getting the error message "This client is too old". How do I fix this?

You are running the updater.jnlp file not the custom salem one right?

Hmmm I have the same issue and I'm clueless. It simply doesn't want to update Salem.jar.
I have cleaned Java cache. I have even removed bin folder from C:\users\<username>\Salem
And here's the funny part - updater redownloaded all jars except for salem.jar. It said there are no updates for salem.jar
Of course it didn't even launch then.

Try:

start -> Control Panel -> Java (or Win7 + it is under Start -> Control Panel -> Programs -> Java)

Under temporary Internet files click settings and then click Delete files

I did that. I said I did clean java cache. I even tried removing it manually.
My guess is Ender is tinkering with the client now and has locked salem.jar making it unavailable.

You are running the updater.jnlp file not the custom salem one right?

I'm running the updater.jnlp I just downloaded from the path in the first post in this thread. I think it's identical the one I was already trying to use, and it has the date 25.04.2013 in the top left corner.

No, that didn't work at all. I assume you wanted me to replace the salem.jar in my bin folder?

Now when I try the Ender client, it even fails to launch. It goes through that stage where it controls available updates (or something), then nothing.

Same here. I'll try rebooting PC later, can't do it atm

No, just wanted to see if you can access that resource, ruling out any network issues

Thanks though. Now neither of the Salem clients work for me.

Edit: Reinstalled the default, and it works fine now, the Ender client is still failing to upload.
