A monthly fee for a *now* indie game just wouldn't work out, the one time fee however I agree with

Eve online is not dying they are even expanding ;) and thx to monthly fees they can deliver quality that no other company did in sandbox-space-mmo.
However I prefer idea of initial payment when you are creating account, if someone would want to spend 15$ for subscription and get access to some bonus -50% silver drain from claim it would be great, from time to time, when I have less time to play, I would do that to save time and keep away raiders from my camp.
But imo it should be like "Premium pack for month-name" not forever subscription of course it should do more than just lower claims drain.

If we are talking about ideas... I am not huge fan of WoW, but they had nice idea about alt characters some time ago... if you had char with 60+(?) lvl you could create new character Death knight (if I remember it right). It could be used in Salem too, if we get few profs higher than 100 and biles 300+, on same account we could unlock option for new character with some bonuses, there can be only single bonus-character per account, if he die you can inherit bonus. It should push people to grind and level up their chars instead of do stupid cricket, mushroom hunting all the time.

That is just not a good idea at all.

As far as I understand it, it would come down to this:

Grind to a certain level, let's say all humours 200 and all proficiencies 100+.
Never log in the character again, and experience the joy of unlimited boosted characters.
I have neither the crayons nor the time to explain it to you.

Please read my whole idea...
there can be only single bonus-character per account

A small explanation on this WoW example.
Death knights were added as a class starting on level 55 because there was no meaningful way to add them to the game world on low level. In such case Blizzard decided to add a limit - player must have a level 50 character first, before he can make a DK. Not sure if this limit still exists. Since then Blizzard has backed off from the idea of hero classes. Next new class (monk) is available from level 1.
Death Knight wasn't really a bonus for high level players. It was a new class, plain and simple.

If you want to talk about bonuses that high level players obtain then good example would be heirlooms. Obtainable on high levels, bound to account, scalable with level - designed to boost alts.

And such bonuses are present in Salem as well. If you raise one character then usually it goes in pair with building infrastructure. If you decide to raise alts now then you have it easier - you have infrastructure already present with all the goodies that your "main" character can provide. What more exactly would you like?

Because on some profs and biles level it is hard to get better stats and at that point if you are not starting to raid, game is getting little boring.

To give a purpose, when you have all building (I know you can say we have little content, but even in HnH you can get everything, new content is not infinite), all crops, you can craft everything and at that point people are losing their purpose. Blind run for purity is or more like was one thing that held people in salem for few weeks after new world started, but now it doesn't work this way. But always creating something new is fun and cool in both salem and hnh.

I really can't see the logical implication here :/
