Considering the rules overhaul there isn't a lot of relevant precedent to work with. I think it'd be best to trailblaze it. Given that everyone is feeling around for what's comfortable I think there will be a lot of leaway room to find that goldilocks zone.

I don't think it's about overruling decisions but about coming to some consensus, especially among moderator team, about some decisions made in the past - whether they were right or wrong. Decisions that some people still keep in mind and disagree with.

Especially now, with the "new beginning".

Granted, it does involve opening old wounds, but I don't really know any other way how to do it.

Further arguing will lead to strife, not to consensus. Discussion leads nowhere, but actions of conciliation and mutual forgiving and tolerance do. Full consensus that this was all a bunch of BS drama will in time emerge naturally.

Joy to the forums! (pardon the crappy recording)

Feel very free to send me a PM if you feel you've been unfairly treated. I don't like overruling moderation decisions, but I will at the very least listen to what you have to say.

Ok I get it, you want to be The Righteous Judge that always have final word, that God complex :D
...but I thought that Paradox (Moo and Enigmaz) was trying to set rules to save their precious time (and money) using volunteers (mods) as judges, now I can bet that most of cases will endup with PM from some kid that feels he was hurt by mod. Also I am not sure that Dev-mod is good idea, you arleady explain game mechanic after updates by PMs or on IRC, now decisions about someones punishment or not will go in same way. Don't get me wrong I am little worried about updates and Salems reputation right now, which is not glorious if it comes to new updates, community, mods and abusers right now. Of course I have diferent approach... for me leaving Paradox forums was mistake ;)

I like it. Less rules lawyering. It's not like moderators were held accountable in the old regime anyways (save one particularly inflammatory instance) so this just makes it much more easy going. I worry, though, that the forums may devolve into something like Haven which, while effective (albeit unforgiving and daunting to post in much like sticking your hand into a pool of piranha), isn't very marketable.

Either way, accipe nunc Jorb. Accipe nunc.
