Two developers cannot and will not be enough to get this game to anywhere close to its full potential. More so when they are rebuilding HnH from the ground up.

I mean none of this as an insult, you guys are very talented, but its very obvious that a game of this nature needs something that the two of you (or any two people) cannot provide without the backing of a team, once again not an insult, but an observation of the situation at hand.

I'm going to try to do more Live Streams of my Salem gameplay at twitch.tv/daopa, maybe a small help but I can surely get people to at least try the game out time to time ....

Was wondering, how should I market Salem? What key focus points should I tell people when they ask, what is this game, what is it all about .... etc

Focus Points
Sandbox crafting MMO w/Perma death

Thanks for reading and any suggestions provided!

I personally only see one issue with developing the game with only Jorb and Loftar working on it, provided they give themselves a reality check in terms of the state of the game every now and then. Not having to push out content at a rushed pace, they might just be able to properly assess how the game is evolving with the mechanics they implement, so in that sense Paradox being less involved might help. On the other hand, maintaining the current dev team alone will perhaps push back the future release date of the game even further, and don't get me wrong, that's not a big problem provided the end result is still good. But if the game exists in its open beta form for a long time, and is available to the public in this less than satisfactory form, people will just try it out and peg it as not meeting their expectations. The one issue with slow development lead by a 2 man team is that any hype Salem might've had will slowly reach 0 just like gluttony points ticking down while waiting for that next piece of epic food. So hopefully Jorb and Loftar manage to keep the community hyped up to some extent, and I mean the gamer community in general, not the Salem community. We already have our opinions of the game, but it's important that people that haven't played it yet don't get burned out on it before it actually becomes fun enough to make a lasting impression for release day.

Good luck.

I hated doing it but the only other people to stream Salem in the last 3 months were 2 Russians that murdered and townbelled some friends of mine impersonating Koreans. Had to wipe their production facility off the map and now I think they quit. :?

It saddens me that paradox have really abandoned salem. This game will never get the advertisement it deserves, nor the development power now which it deserves. There are still some ways to get a huge population once the game is complete(Completion date is another issue, could be years, and by then other big names could have come and taken the market), One of them being something like putting Salem on Facebook.

I think a Perma death crafting MMO on facebook could go a long way, as well as being on websites like kongregate or Steam. :)

Still waiting on witchcraft which is what enticed me to follow this game in the first place almost 2 years ago.

Having huge servers, like a Facebook server, a Main Seatribe server, A Kongregate server, with the ability to travel between them.

This game could become something amazing, but it just needs more developers to get the game were it needs to be, to be a marketable game. I would happily offer up my skills if i had any for free, but from what i understand, the devs rarely accept help, even if its free.
Retribution ~ Death comes to those who wait.

I want to know if there is gonna be a wipe or the policy " no wipes" will remain, cause if not i dont see a point in people keep playing and i hope we get some kind of alert/notice(weeks/month maybe) of a wipe incoming, not wake up one day and find out that the server has reset.
