*DISCLAIMER* i'm quite drunk as writing this. spelling checking tho
This is really sad and unexpected. I can't believe paradox pulled out. I mean surely paying 2 developers salaries was a very small ***** fee compared to most game development.

So true. playing hnh again makes this so aparent. some things I much prefer in salem over hnh but vice versa. I feel like combined they could make a epic game, but I guess its a matter of opinion. for me vaugely:
combat: salem > haven. haven may have more depth but seems unnecessarily complicated and I prefer twitchy skill based salem combat. where reactions etc. are important not just stat levels.
AI: salems is MILES ahead of haven. hunting in haven some retarded **** where you block in with signs, can kill hardest mob at lowest level with sling and abusing twitching bad AI. fighting monsters in salem is actually pretty ***** cool, also to do with ^ above combat.
food leveling: I prefer the FEP system overall to salems gluttony, can do it much more relaxed manor. but stamina ddraining to level up in haven is retarded.
leveling: I think salem's inspirational system has slight edge over havesn curios in most ways. its more deep, less alt-able but also as a result to the latter much more grindy.
transport: invisible motor boating in haven is kind of stupid, I think salems vastly reduced teleporting and transport could have worked very nicely if they addded in horses much earlier. should have been an absolutely priority. as it is I think haven is simply more fun, getting around in salem without mounts is just too dull, especially with impassible cliffs sometimes stretching for miles.
anyways just a quick overview of salem vs haven. I'm sure i could come up with more detailed write up when sober.
