Sure, I wouldn't mind bucksaws, although you'd be **** out of luck if you were doing it on your own unless you wanted to have an alt running around to help you with the saw.
Do something else and keep an eye on the percent complete readout in the mean time. It's what I've always done. (And maybe a weather eye on your minimap if you don't live somewhere safe. I live in an area where the only other players I am going to see are friendly, so it's not as big of a deal to me. I still keep it up to make sure a snake doesn't randomly wander over and bite me though. It's not like I can't survive walking back to get antidote, it's just an unnecessary waste to get bit by not paying attention.)

did they really quit salem for a H&H which is 100 times worse then salem. dont get me wrong H&H looks awsome but come pair to salem its crap. update salem and forget about H&H it dosnt make u money. this is BS stop working on H&H and focus on salem

My issue isn't that so much as the fact that my village mates are getting all leery. I like having people to play with. I'm jittery about things that make them jittery, because my main source of enjoyment is playing with them.
