A wipe before release is inevitable. Especially once the sweeping changes to gluttony and alchemy have been implemented. In my opinion at least. So long as the intention of those changes is to make those processes more difficult.

The standing statement is NO WIPES.

And the standing problem is that nobody wants to play because of ridiculously OP legacy characters.

The big ass grind doesn't help either.

I do not see any way around wiping the servers or at least a single server.

They could keep adding new servers, but that would only dilute the active player base even more. And even with the addition of a new server, the majority of the active player base would switch to it, leaving behind the already entrenched/established player groups. Eventually everyone would likely have switched to the newest (more active) server. No matter what path they took there would be a lot of whining and complaining.

They need to find a way to merge all the servers into one huge game world, with one shared hub where trading/gatherings can take place. Adding servers should only be needed after a massive influx of users, and even then the server should still be part of the main game world.

They should just make a single new server when they get rid of the big ass grind, the old servers will wither away and die on their own. Nobody will play on these old servers with ridiculous titans, except the titan owners themselves, but I'm sure they'll quickly get tired of playing on servers with 5 people online.

Plymouth had a pretty even amount of players for a couple of months then the the playerbase on a whole tripled when they added 2 additional servers. Though I believe at that time there were lots of beta key promotions.

Potjeh is right, why would anyone waste their time (or money) on current servers when those mythical titans could call by any moment and raze all of their efforts.

server transfers and no wipes is what was promised, if those promises are not realized and i am expected to start over again for the fifth time after spending money to support the game, spending time merchanting to acquire silver, digging three thousand miles of dirt, and endlessly warring other factions (solo!) to achieve my power position because some incompetents are upset there are a handful of characters stronger than they are i will simply move along as i am sure most of the current non quitting playerbase will.

then less than a month after a wipe or new server all of the current quitters and whiners will find themself at the bottom of the pile again and ***** about whatever latest "unfair" outrage there is when their 15 stat **** character gets killed before once again quitting.

i am currently producing 16% humus, as time goes on that level will increase. however i am confident that with crops in that purity range and enough tier 3 fields i could make a 400 - 500 stat character already, the mechanics exist in the game to be competitive, perhaps you retards should have spent the last two months working with them instead of throwing your hands in the air and giving up expecting a handout in the form of a wipe after people like myself do all the testing/discovering/handholding/guide writing for you.

on jamestown there are 3 different players with "titans" i am aware of, of those three i am the only one still playing and the other two are locked in their old towns ruins unable to log on without being killed, so if someone wants a "titan free" server all they need do is settle on jamestown, stay away from my general area and you are unlikely to ever see one.

Like Dallane said, the problem isn't that those stats are unattainable theoretically, the problem is that they're unattainable to anyone with a job and a social life. If the game is completely inaccessible to casual players, it's doomed to fail. Hardcore grinders are a tiny minority, and they can never financially sustain the game on their own.

At this point I'd like to ask players who have had more experience in HnH than I a question.

How does the grind in Salem compare to the grind in HnH? What makes Salem less accessable to casual and semi casual players than HnH?
