Why is where we come from a dictation of how and who we are? People from Russia are just like people from US, people from Brazil or people from China.. There is a wide variety of people in all of these countries, charitable and selfish, dedicated and disloyal, Honest and untrustworthy.. It matters not where you are from.
Ideology does play an important factor though, the way one thinks about oneself. This is one of the ways that the differences between nationalities sometimes show. In Russia there is a very strong socialist ideology, meaning that the populace tends to prefer society over individualism (yet some don't) you could say that you would find more people willing to work together to achieve a common goal.
As opposed to, say, the US where the Capitalist nature of the populace tends to focus on how to get the most and best for themselves, identifying that this may sometimes lead to working together to achieve said outcome. This then leads to the level of hostility and mistrust and suspicion that someone else is getting more than they are..
I personally like everyone I have met (or played with) from Russia, but for many different reasons, but i have also found troublemakers (doesnt stop me from liking them

)
The Soviets had a massive impact on the world, advancing technology and idealisms to new heights.. however the best thing they achieved was the practical demonstration why communism will never work.
