Enders doesn't work for me either. It loads up and then instantly has an error before finishing the GUIs.

It may be worth mentioning too, that the vanilla loader also throws up an error for me but only after travelling a lot, it's always an out of memory error on java (I have about 1.2gb free ram to play) and I've taken to logging out every 30 mins when the game begins to lag. If I wait for the crash java almost locks up my machine with full ram usage (vanilla) and I have to task manager to end process. I really want to try this, and partly so I can add the lower resolution tileset.

I had the same problem, here is how i fixed it : go to c drive open the folder called "users" find "salem" i had 2 kinds of folders for it. I deleted them both then opened enders with the link on the first page and it worked fine. Hope it works for you too :)

A quick question about Ender's Client - does anyone else notice that it tends to use a lot of memory?

Running even just two clients at the same time slows down my PC greatly. I suspect memory leaks and I'd appreciate any help in finding any workarounds to improve game performance.

try and notice the default one does, too.
there are various custom clients floating around. Hans' low-res textures worked wonders for my laptop :)
I have neither the crayons nor the time to explain it to you.

Damn. I didn't realize that this is a problem for the default client, too.

Mind linking other custom clients that are focused on improving game performance? Preferably those that are tested and release source to ensure it isn't collecting account details.

increasingly laggy

Postby Tamasin » Sat May 18, 2013 12:19 am

when i first started playing salem, it ran beautifully and didn't slow my computer down at all. as time has gone on, lag has arrived, and increased to the point of being a problem, and my computer has been a lot slower when i run salem. how come this is happening and how do i fix it please? don't know if its relevant but i'm using ender's client.

It is relevant and if you have issues with a custom client, you need to take it up with the modder. Moving this message to Ender's thread for his client.

Best I can tell you is clear the cache. Overgrown map files have been known issues in the past. Playing and wandering for some length of time will cause system slowdown, too due to the number of loaded graphics. There may be other reasons I've not kept track of.
I am a moderator. I moderate stuff. When I do, I write in this color.
