The Alchemist Cookbook

This thread is to gather data on all the different cooking recipes ingame. Please add your science results to it.
I'll kick off with the oatmeal and barley meat pies. I've divided gluttony values by the purity multiplier to get to the base values listed below.
Too bad I wasn't able to find any wild turkeys. I skipped the march hares as well, since I read they don't have special meat yet.
Sa, Me, Su and Le are Salt event, Mercury event, Sulphur event and Lead event respectively

I'd contribute my own tests to this, but I fear that the system needs quite a bit of rebalancing, so the cookbook would need re-written in a week :P

But how will the devs know it needs rebalancing if we don't do the testing and post the results?

Big edit : Going to dump the flour modifiers here, to have them bunched up neatly in one place.

Oatmeal
Code: Select all
0.8            0            0            0
  0          0.8            0         0.38
  0            0          0.8            0
  0            0            0          0.9

Rye
Code: Select all
 1.2          0          0.4          0
   0       1.32            0          0
   0          0          1.1          0
0.35        0.3            0       1.25

Barley
Code: Select all
 1.3            0          0.4             0
0.35          1.2            0          0.35
   0            0          0.9             0
   0            0            0           1.5

Wheat
Code: Select all
1.5          0          0.5          0
  0        1.5            0          0
  0        0.5          1.5          0
  0          0            0        1.5

Will hopefully be able to add most of these modifiers to the wiki entries of the respective ingredients, so that it'll be easier for people to find the info.

Good initiative, hopefully there are some more people supporting it.

Two samples from a random cooking session:

Humble Meat Pie
Deer:
Code: Select all
Sa 19.4 / 3.6 / 0.0 / 6.0
Me 1.0 / 18.2 / 0.0 / 14.1
Su  5.1 / 0.0 / 21.8 / 16.6
Le  1.6/ 18.2 / 0.0 / 17.2

Deer + Beaver:
Code: Select all
Sa 16.7 / 3.0 / 0.0 / 7.5
Me 3.1 / 20.8 / 0.0 / 26.2
Su  7.9 / 0.0 / 25.0 / 29.4
Le  3.9 / 20.8 / 0.0 / 30.0

While I do appreciate your effort, those numbers are rather meaningless.

- you didn't mention the type of cereals used
- did you divide your values by the multiplier value on the items in question, to get base value?
- don't bother adding recipes like deer + beaver, because the announcement thread states, that those will come out "like the old gluttony values"

sorry, i missread that part. I'll post corrected results tomorrow after i can think clearly again (had some beers this evening ;) )

Recipies definitely give different results, even if more than one type of meat is used. I guess in the case of humble meat pie, it differentiates between the meat used as cuts and shreds.

And one thing:
It's hard to get someone on this forum to help you gathering data. The chances getting someone involved are rather low. I tried to help this thread beeing expanded and the answer i got is: 'rather meaningless'. Well that isn't a good motivation, isn't it? Don't get me wrong, starting this thread was the right thing to do, but i'm pretty sure that you will not get any other results. People are lazy and if you scare these ones away willing to help, nobody will even bother again.

I just dont care to look on the stuff if i can't understand the production of semi-products. I know its fun to 'discover' things, but it is no fun for the old players like me. If you want to contribute some data post in my thread, maybe we will be able to get some formula's(unless jorbtar tell us some of them...)

First entry is shreds, second is cuts. Eg.: 'Beaver + Deer' means beaver shreds and deer cuts are used. Using two types of shreds result in just the cut type beeing used.

Humble Meat Pie
Oatmeal + Beaver + Deer:
Code: Select all

Me 1.6 / 21.7 / 10.0 / 44.2
Su  3.5 / 0.0 / 33.4 / 37.1
Le 2.1 / 21.7 / 10.0 / 49.3

Humble Meat Pie
Oatmeal + Bear + Deer:
Code: Select all

Sa 20.3 / 3.7 / 0.0 / 8.2
Me 8.5 / 19.4 / 10.5 / 37.8
Su  13.7 / 08. / 35.2 / 32.3
Le 9.9 / 19.5 / 10.5 / 42.0

Humble Meat Pie
Oatmeal + Bear + Rabbit:
Code: Select all
Multiplier: 1.01
Sa 18.5 / 3.7 / 3.7 / 11.0
Me 2.0 / 15.5 / 5.6 / 21.8
Su  4.2 / 0.8 / 18.3 / 16.6
Le 2.5 / 15.6 / 5.7 / 25.5

I included the multiplier into the data sets, but i think it is not precisely enough. I had cases where the multipliers were equal, but the actual glutony values were different. To get more accurate results, it is necessary to write down the elemental values as well and calculate the multiplier from the formula given in the wiki http://salemwiki.info/index.php/Purity.

I have to apologize then, for sounding somewhat harsh, whereas I did not intend to. Let me emphasize that I do appreciate the effort.
Awesome find on the shreds and cut materials making different recipes.
