It was the last part of that sentence that had me wonder. So I did a test to confirm: If you eat another mushroom while the first one is in effect, it WILL add an additional decrease to your humors. So I had 12 blood. I used one Witch Hat shroom and dropped to 9.5. I then used another Witch Hat shroom and it dropped me down to 7.2
Basically it means I can't use the wandering skill as a noob because I run out of humors too quickly. I don't think i've ever played where I only needed one Witch Hat shroom. Now if I stick to just eating Waxing Shrooms, you are right. It doesn't seem to be that big of a deal. I guess I over reacted after seeing the affect of the Witch Hat shroom on my humors and after the test I can officially state that they have ruined Witch Hat shrooms for noobs and I would still like to see icon differences between an unboiled shroom and a boiled shroom.
