You get a 0.1% debuff for a waxing toadstool, so it is certainly possible that multiple of them won't make a visible difference.

Claeyt wrote:That seems like almost a pointlessly small amount.

Yes, and that's intentional. ;)

The intention was not so much to make unboiled waxing toadstools uneatable as it was to just demonstrate the effect and point out the utility in boiling mushrooms.

Cool, yeah I only ate them with my 10-20 stat alts. I'll try it with my main. I thought it was going to be .1 per shroom and it never went up. Thnx. :D

Like I keep telling people tho, this is nothing newbs can't handle. The Debuff is incredible short for Waxing also.

What are you talking about with a 400 stat guy? That would only be .4 loss per waxing shroom, right? Even for the pies, that would still be worth eating them, wouldn't it? Especially since it only lasts 5 min.

Yeah I was eating shrooms while wandering the woods with humors in the 30s the effect is negligible. Took me like 5 to see my max bile drop by .2 and then it went back up to down by .1 within 10 seconds or so

Foraging less attractive? When the only alternative is an ever lengthening grind, foraging is a nice break from that. I look forward to getting my 'chores' done so I can wander around and explore some. Also, I could swear it was only a week or two ago that one of the devs said they wanted to make things less grindy. Which is it?

Thing with gluttoning under debuff worked kinda strange yesterday's morning, through I didn't made any profit. I actually managed to raise my biles, but at the points higher than original their number.
Anyway, that isn't nice when devs treating players like this as well players treating devs, maybe you guys could try getting some feedback on your updates, or at least making comments on stuff you do. Many peolpe are waiting something big about alchemy, which currently hurts.

I am not a dorf :(

I think this update may have gone down a little better if the only outcome was not poisonous shrooms or if there was a little more explanation or emphasis on the other potential applications of this new mechanic. I like the idea of a world where everything is out to kill me though, even other players, and mushrooms.

If you are serious about reducing the amount of effort involved in gathering I'd like to suggest higher yield from gardening pots, because they are fiddly and three is not enough to make the pots competitive with foraging. Perhaps another step could be involved to increase gardening yield, or reduce the growth time etc. Fertilizing them like fields would be nice but I understand it's kindof ridiculous dumping 1,000 lime into a tiny plant pot. Regardless, maximum gardening yield should be greater than three, whatever extra steps are added. In my humble opinion.

How bout if we could just grow all the types of mushrooms in pots and they come out non-poisonous. Or plant them with an arrowhead or something and they become even more poisonous for other Alchemical uses.

I kinda like the idea of poisonous mushrooms killing you. heck, why not go all out and create a special HARDCORE server where if we get knocked out it becomes a permanent death? Think Diablo 3's hardcore rules, absolutely genius

I've wanted to do mushroom specific farming for ages. Just growing them in boxes in a mine or cellar with a special compost, or even different composts or growth mediums for specific mushrooms. A greater variety of mushrooms would also be nice, but I'm not sure if a large variety of local mushrooms in a more European thing.

It would be nice also if we could cross-breed them to an extent, and with additives bring out or suppress different characteristics like you say.

An increase in gardening yield is ideally, in my view, an interim solution for mushrooms whilst also (at least partially) solving the scarcity of foragables like huckleberries and oakworth.
