Hello, Salem Forumers!
I'm (larping) Silence Dogood, a self-appointed editor of the new newspaper, The Tumbleweed Courant.
The Tumbleweed Courant IS the yellow press, meaning I am not going to take any responsibilities of the contents being truth or not. I will be collecting news and events I happen to see or hear from mainly forums and IRC chat (so busy players can use this as a summary of forum events with my subjective views), and maybe, later on, also from volunteer journalists and/or anonymous info providers, depending on how this goes.
Just like tumbleweeds, seeds or just clusters I pick up may roll around the salem world, may gather weeds and branches to grow into big puffballs, or they may just be picked up by a passer-by, get studied, consumed and be bygones. I hope I can manage to grow some nothingness into good dramas and laughs. Oh I sure hope I'll later get suppressed by some super-powers too!
Hopefully, you'll all enjoy my "talking trash" here!

http://tumbleweed.sabinati.com/

list of links to each issue.

Since my native tongue is not English, and this is going to be (hopefully) a huge project, I'm going to ask for volunteers as follows. Send me or sabinati your resume and a piece of your own work with your email address by pm if you're interested.

WANTED : Members of my "Hell-Fire Club"
- Writers (must be good at writing!)
- [s]Proofreaders (must be good at english grammar!)

- Journalists (must read many threads in here or all threads in one particular forum, and have big ears!)
- ScreenShotters (must get nice and neat pics from game! make sure you can crop pics nicely too!)
- Wannabe "lasting" editor (whoever wants to take this over but can promise to keep on :P)

*edit*
PLEASE include your preferable "name" for credit, e.g. my "Silence Dogood" for larping, and/or whether you want to stay anonymous or have your forum name revealed. Thank you all for showing your interests! hope to have the "editorial board" bigger for the next issue!
*edit2*

now particularly looking for a good economist who is always checking up on all trading threads and player stalls, and can summarize pricing trends with popular items.
also, an obituary notice editor who can list many of the deceased in salem (just the ones claimed so on the forums or by pm.)
*edit3*
please send me (or sabinati) your email address too for an account on the web page when/if youre in.

*edit4*
The next issue will be the last issue i am editing.
if you would like to take over the courant, please contact sabinati as long as he hosts it.

Supported. Cool. 10/10. Applause. High five.
I never managed to figure out something clever for my signature on Paradoxplaza, and I doubt I'll do it here either.

I was mostly talking about the idea, and I like the name. Will extend scale to 100 and judge accordingly after first issue has been released.

"How far you goin'? To the end of this fence!"
Some players are having fun raiding, victims are accusing them of abuse and exploits. One of the raiders, Darwoth (lootscoot in game) was summon-killed by unknown vigilantes, while he was semi-afking in Boston. The whole story is yet to be known, as Darwoth has promised to give us his side of the story.
Salem is into its second world since the start of Beta testing, and we are once again starting to see some remarkable raider activity. Rangers of The Lumberwoods, now abandoned, is one of the first towns who spoke out in public that they had more than 5 of their farmers* killed. “I will elaborate on this more in the coming days as it is a fairly epic story”, says Darwoth. As of publishing Darwoth still seems to be struggling with cropping pics of the said scenes.

Blind the King, a town led by painhertz, also claims to be one of the victims of Darwoth's raids. On the other hand, gregl26, aka Eulogi, mentions of a different side story to it, claiming himself to be the true victim of the event.

The methods on how to carry stolen items to raiders' homestead efficiently have not been revealed officially, but there are already posts which talk about some potential ways. According to rumors glitches may allow for exploitation of game mechanics and master masons are aware of one exploit and considering a fix somehow. (S.D.)

Salem potpourri

Boston has got a cupboard as a new silver sink. Some player most likely wanted a safe container for trading or storage, and decided to bring their cupboard into Boston center. More of these may appear soon for different reasons, but we all know jorb and loftar will have fun smashing them sooner or later. Owners of the Boston cupboards may have to buy more Company glass panes once that happens. (S.D.)

Dshaded was scammed 400 silver by Severis Snape. Although he has offered a bounty on this scammer, Dshaded was also griefed locked in his own homestead. He was seeking a high level helper who could help him out by bashing his own walls, an anonymous vigilante volunteered and was successful in freeing him and killing the griefer. The community is glad to learn that we have a 'Spiderman' or two in our community, helping out the community. (S.D.)

Rololas lost a snakeskin coat taken without payment by feuer, while trying to trade.
And Superiodity claims to have seen a scammer with a metal hat on. This scammer has stolen 200-300s from others. (S.D.)

Azkanan, aka Projeear, is working on a Motte and Bailey project. It may become the first sightseeing spot in Salem. Don’t forget to check it out before it gets too major! (S.D.)

Salem VIP on Fire
TotalyMoo’s Out of Town ******** resulting his Death
Our GM, TotalyMoo, had confessed his ******** to be extraordinary long. He claimed to have his 5 hours away from him, in another town where his girlfriend lives. His girlfriend did not need to miss him at all while living far away with his children.

Maybe that was the cause of his sudden death on September 3rd, “I’m dead. Tell my children I love them. The treasure is under the rock, they’ll know what you mean by that”, he said with his last might. Now people of Salem are wondering if any of his children have inherited his long ******** to get his job done.

If that was not the case, all we could hope for is that at least one of his children remembers to poke Paradox with whatever the mean he/she has, to implement more stalls in Boston for traders, and the new surprise content promised by jorb, while waiting for the multi-server support. (S.D.)

Loftar adresses serious concerns about his haircut
<loftar> Ah, well, I've seen, in passing, people discussing me being late for the witchcraft video for a haircut.
<loftar> But that's actually not true.
<loftar> I was stuck in traffic for that.
<Tonky> lol
<Zou> But were you getting a haircut before that?
<DDDsDD999> So jorb is a liar?
<loftar> I was, but that was several hours in advance.
<DDDsDD999> And you must eat his heart?
<DDDsDD999> To gain all the hair creme his hair has absorbed?
<loftar> I eat his heart anyway.
