A little more hard date to help people make informed decisions, doesn't really prove or disprove anything though.
As you can see there is two versions of the image shown in the OP:

http://i.imgur.com/wImF3Pn.jpg . The first is the one from the link, it roughly 5x smaller than the image in the OP (
http://i.imgur.com/wImF3Pn.jpg) Only one image, the smaller on is mentioned in the chat log, meaning it seems Colesie had access to a larger version of the image ( if he expanded the image shown in the chat log to be 5x larger it would have become pixelated.) There are explanations of course, there could be more to the chat log then what is shown or as I'm not familiar with imgur I could be missing something here.
It might also be good to note that there is no French language imgur, the person in the chat seems to be French and speak English poorly but uses a English language image hosting service. Not unthinkable, but a little weird.
Here's some math based data.
It reads 12.15 on the forums as I write this. (UTC DST)
Imgur reads that both images were uploaded 17 hours ago, ( it just changed from 16 to 15 meaning it was probably uploaded about 7.15 forum time (FT).
The OP was created at 7.27 FT implying roughly 15 min give or take passed between the uploading of the image and the thread being created.
Colesie's time zone is EDT
So if the forum reads 12 Forum Time it is 7 EDT (UTC DST - 5). So when the thread was created (7.27 FT) it should have been 2.27 EDT.
And the image having been uploaded around 2.15 EDT
The chat log reads:

This seems to fit perfectly with the times he is claiming to have received the pictures, which makes me think he isn't playing anyone, or at the very least is going way out of his way to make sure it seems real.
I'm not the best as math so correct me if you see something I did wrong here.
The fact that the image was uploaded earlier that the chat seems to indicated seems a bit odd to me though. If I had to guess I'd say someone was trying to play Colesie.
However, the line between probability (as referenced by your saying that it "could" be the case) and fact ("you're being played") is a broad one given the notable distinction. For example, were you to believe you were being trolled as a fact, the only gain would be completely political, risking your sterling reputation of being an unbiased resource here in the community.
