So You're A Rebel, Now What?

Greetings Fine Pilgrim's of Salem!
It is I, your fearless leader, Colesie!

Recently I've been receiving a lot of questions concerning the Rebellion and what it means to be a Rebel.
Well first, let's look at the very definition of the word:

reb·el
/ˈrebəl/

Noun
A person who rises in armed resistance against an established government or ruler.
Verb
Rise in opposition or armed resistance to an established government or ruler.
Synonyms
noun. insurgent - mutineer - insurrectionist - rioter
verb. revolt - mutiny - rise - riot

This is exactly what you are pilgrim! (Or what you could be) Though it does not necessarily mean that you are expected to be on the front lines of battle. You are also able to support in many other ways such as through trade, crafting, and socketting.

If you are a Rebel, this does not mean that you are automatically part of the Rebellion. By not paying the Tribe's blood-tax and by refusing any of their larping nonsense you are then known as a Rebel of Plymouth. You do not need any Rebel affiliations nor are you then forced into helping the Rebel's side. What then makes you a part of the Rebellion, is when you choose to support the other side of the coin.

Some ways that you can help the Rebel cause are by donating the following items to the Rebel group of your choosing:
-Granite (walls/planter's pots)
-Hay (tiering fields)
-Metal bars (braziers)
-Humus of any purity (Again, planter's pots for treewalls)
-Nails (used for compost bins)
-Whispering snake skulls (for socketting our clothing)
-Leather (canoes, village expansion)
-Buying your goods from Rebel stalls in Boston whenever possible
See Rebel Trade thread: viewtopic.php?f=7&t=4947#p57721

On top of this, if you're feeling more daring, you are allowed to participate in defending Rebel bases should the time ever come for us to do so. (We hold the right to deny your help if we have suspicions of you being a spy or if you have proven in the past to be unreliable) "Defending" could include but is not limited to, spawning alts on a hearth secret in order to block Indians into the base while under brazier fire, porting goods to a battle zone for fighters, or running over and fighting yourselves.

It has come to my attention that others have been doing things in the name of the Rebellion without taking the time to message myself (or anyone for that matter) about it.

Example thread: viewtopic.php?f=6&t=5795#p67893

Since the Rebellion is fairly open ended and leaves a lot up to individuals, you as a Rebel are free to do whatever you feel will help the end goal of eliminating the Tribe/being a huge pain in the ass to them.
However, we do frown upon a few things:
-Asking for a tax similar to the MM Tribe's current one
-Demanding that others give you aid/items in the name of the Rebellion (People are free to do as they please)
-Getting in the way or abusing normal players. (Noob slaying, killing of fellow proven rebels and constant conversations with Tribal members are looked down on while doing things in the name of the Rebellion)

You are free to be a leader of your own group in the Rebellion and to address yourself as such, but when speaking do not act as if it is a shared belief throughout the entire group. Just because you and your group decide to begin attacking Treaty Payer bases does not mean that the entire Rebellion is now taking the same stance. Should your group cross these boundaries listed above on a regular basis, you will be treated as a Tribal sympathizer and in return, you will be marked as kill on sight like all of the other Tribal Braves.

Should your group decide that they want to post their accomplishments then I ask that you please do so in this thread. If you would like to keep your forum name a secret you can simply send me the content through IRC or Skype and I will post on your behalf.

Keep fighting da good fight Pilgrims! ***** the treaty! Mushibag lives!

I would like you see you complete an entire treewall in one single day! And no, we have much larger bases. It just so happens that the tribe only knew about my hermit's vault.

This is nothing new Colesie. I think people who sympathise with the "rebellion" would like some kind of plan. (Not a detailed one, but promise of actions to change things in the not so distant future.) And who knows what side you are on anyways..

Will there be likely a truce between you two factions and Plymouth divided into two spheres of influence? Then one day there would be more rebellions within both spheres and so on. Some diplomatic missions and neutral zones as cushions would make things more interesting in the future.
We make sword stone for keeper and pull they do it and excalibur come out. have no make stone to for sword we make sword box for sword to put sword in for sword. -Moniker (Anarchy online)
