I've played Salem for about six weeks now, and enjoyed every aspect of it. well, not really the changes the last patch made.
but as far as i know, this is still beta. and at beta things is tested out. that's the nature of it.

Personally i would love to see a server reset, would it be realistic that a server reset came? no.
in a game like Salem, you want people with high and low humour, you want farmers and pvp'ers. you want people that likes to be alone, and people in communities. To be able to test out changes.
if you just simply reset servers, you would have to wait for several months before some came above 200 (if not more)
and i think it's a bit unfair just to shout out server reset, when some people has put in so many hours/days of game time, just because it's in your favor.

personally i find persons like Darwoth entertaining, well, he is trolling a bit around. but he makes some pretty interesting threads, the same goes for mm tribe. even candy queen and ze evil roanoke russians. both CQ and the russians i've encountered
in one way or another at Roanoke, got my claim destoyed. and still going strong, not been killed yet. but the day will surely come.

i figure there will be a small chance that they will support the game, as they have done until now if a server reset was to come, and yes they have been supporting, in one way or another. surely the devs been looking at them and taking notes.

to sum it up,

there is not going to be a reset, money is involved here people.
Small chances of a new server, we already have 3 with only about 20% load at max. in the future if salem ever leaves beta state. then maybe
learn to respect people that's been around for longer time in this game, and don't ask for a bloody reset.

Old players simply planted seeds, grinded purity, and then 100-400 humours.

Have you completely missed the posts describing WHY these characters are now useless until further alchemy mechanics are added? I can understand why you want to complain about the new system, but at least make your complaints reasonable and logical.

Ok, to say they are worthless is a complete joke.

i almost lost my main raider this morning, piece of **** internet randomly went down and required a hard reset from the provider, 5 minutes later i would of been in the middle of smashing the wall and i would of been *****.

myself, like most will probably scavenge for humus some more then put raids on the backburner precisely because of circumstances like the above and the whole knocked on claim/10 days of combat timers mechanic forcing you to stay logged in even if you dont get KO'ed on the claim.

Offtopic: There's no drama like Salem drama. I tried to claim an abandoned settlement close to mine; an old village I think, and my character just logs itself out. If I'm lucky I get it back after about 30-50 times relogging, and getting out of there in some miraculous lag situation where I can move it.

I can't compete: And I can't reset the server every time we change something, and it is especially pointless to do so in the middle of a new and massive implementation. The time when one would be best positioned to argue for a server reset is when no meaningful changes what-so-ever have been made in a very long time while the game is still suffering from long-term imbalances that have not and will not resolve themselves through the normal processes of player drop-off and decay. Not in the middle of something. Even if I did reset the server tomorrow, you'd be pushing for the next reset come thursday when we make more changes to this very system.

The system sucks: This is baseline natural purity that can be developed without alchemy. Actual, formal alchemy hasn't even been touched yet.

I lost effort: Unfortunate, but some pain in this department has been on the cards for a very long time. It is in the nature of this type of game development that we must at times cause you some pain if we are to make progress. I cannot do much to change that.

NODES?! D:< RAEG!: They are intended to be mild, and provide mild, natural variety to herbs, animals and whatnot. When the system is more complete my aim is to have them be more of a bonus than a necessity.

Grinding four different alchemical values is a chore: I agree. Expect processes of transmutation.

I have presented legitimate concerns in a calm and collected fashion: Thank you! I much appreciate it!

Jag tycker synd om dig, Jorb. Alla bara värsta ***** om det här uppdateringen. Iallafall, så tycker jag det är inte så värst dåligt, dessutom kommer du ju att adda flera Alchemy features, inte sant?

Translate: I feel bad for you, Jorb. Everyone [Only the QQ folks] is ***** about this update. Anywho, I don't think it's that hard, you are going to add more Alchemy features, no?

Thank you for your response to everyone's concerns. I was wondering if you care to expand on this particular part? Maybe have less kinds of alchemy, like 2 instead of four? Or things like compost bins, etc will not effect alchemy? Curiousity killed the carebear.

Also you state why we cannot have a wipe, but do not comment on the possibility of a new server after you finish alchemy. Care to share your thoughts on that?

still <3 you both though :D
