Seriously? You can't infer what the word is?

Or are you just using your spelling nit-pickiness to attempt derail a perfectly valid observation of this update's cyclic dependency?

That or you haven't encountered a thick spread made from chickpeas...

Aww, but it his birthday today. Why can't you be nice to him?

Even if it might be fake birthday, it still counts.

Because he simply deserves it for even bothering pissing Chief off.

Not a valid observation, he forgot all the other factors involved in farming, as P33PEE pointed out.

I don't get hummus from decomposed organic matter, if that's what you're thinking.

Oh look, a troll. Wait, we already knew this!

If it is the troll's birthday then it just shows that the troll hunters of haven are far too merciful. ¦]

Etherdrifter wrote:So, let's review our logic here.

To get high quality crops you need, high quality humous.

To get high quality humous you need high quality crops (ok, so here is a first cycle, though that can be fixed by just waiting for 2 decent rolls)

To get high quality humous you also need a high quality compost

To get a high quality compost you need high quality wood

To get high quality wood you need high quality humous (again, we have a loop, this one is harder to fix as waiting for 2 good rolls is going to take a lot longer (1-2 weeks))

Conclusion : This system has interdependences

Conclusion on the conclusion : Someone done :palmed up.

And now back to your regularly scheduled thread:

This all happens after the old hummus and crops are used up which will take awhile.

Yes right now the wood for bins is a grind for everyone low and high. From testing it looks like higher % wood may be in the darkness, but either way it's going to be months of grinding saplings (at 7 days a pop) in pots to get a good bin for each element.

The other stuff for pots and fields Clay, Lime, Water, etc... are fixed %'s and elements found in different map locations, with slightly higher percent near the darkness. I haven't seen anything confirmed over 7% and I haven't found anything myself over 5% on the these pot ingredients. Either way these are going to take exploration to find and may actually help newbs if they find something in the 10-20% range and can sell it.

The immediate affect is a slow drain on high quality hummus and crops down to a permanent level below what we've seen for the last 6 months, with a slight rise in immediate quality because of slightly higher % water. It means good food will be harder to make and will never be permanently high again.

Like I said tho, Main groups using 2-3 high level hummus per field may be able to prolong high level stuff for awhile, but not forever. Conclusion: High quality hummus, humous, dirt crap, python plop, whatever you want to call it is now gold. Plant saplings in it. Use it or lose it. It's not worth saving as a high level team near you is raiding your neighbors for it as we speak. :o

This last patch ***** the entire game up. How is a new player expected to ever be able to compete with older players?

Old players simply planted seeds, grinded purity, and then 100-400 humours.

Now devs threw in more factors making it exponentially more difficult for new players to be able to do what the old players did.

Lets see what it takes for a new player to achieve what the old plays did: Build a compost bin, next to zero purity, and zero purity compost. Dig for next to zero purity clay, make zero purity pots, use zero purity humus to grow zero purity trees in 7 days. Destroy old compost and use planted trees to build a slightly better one, rinse, repeat. Might be able to raise purity by 1% every week, with 10 times more effort as you need to keep destroying and rebuilding compost, making new pots, planting new trees, etc

These factors are all so interconnected that it seems most people are too functionally retarded to be able to comprehend.

It may take a couple of years to begin producing even 50% pure humus.

Now compare that to what old players needed to do: build compost bin, plant seeds, grind purity at up to 4% higher purity per generation of seeds. 100% purity in a month or two.

Keep in mind that old players probably have 100% purity humus, making it easier to grind purity even after the patch. They can use their 100% purity humus and dig high purity clay due to their skills. They can simply plant high purity trees and speed the process up greatly(yeah, not 100, I know, but a hell of a lot higher than 0%).

So they've benefited before and after patch, and because of that, it will be pretty much impossible for any new players to compete or catch up, making this game completely pointless to anybody new.

Unless they either make a new server, or wipe current ones, I don't want to play this game any more. What happens after beta? Do they wipe the server so everybody can have a fair game experience? or will we have dozens of more factors that make the game 20,000 times harder than it was during beta, along with the players who benefited from exploiting those flaws?
