Back in HnH, it was bad already having the super quality clay, water, soil, etc etc nodes that only few had access to, having to destroy your buildings/build other ones after you got your hands on better clay or whatever... But that was back when we only had 1 thing to keep track of, QUALITY. If it was bad then, in Salem it's 4x worse cuz now you have 4 qualities aka elements to keep track of =|

It seems salem is not going the HnH way with purity nodes (praise Jorbtar), being forageables and natural resources relatively low purity as far as I've seen. The wrong thing about what's been implemented in this update is the way the objects/buildings influence the purity outcome of the stuff you produce through them. I mean, I can imagine the compost bin material having a tiny influence over the purity of humus produced, but that "taint" is residual at best, not the way it has been implemented... Same goes for gardening pots, and antecipating the next update, smelters, anvils, tools, etc... If you tell me coal purity affects bar purity to some extent I can agree with that, still making the smelters/anvils water the purity down further is just crap, specially since we need to keep track of 4 elements unlike HnH.

Also, a change like this begs for some sort of intervention on items gathered pre-update. If it wasnt supposed to reach 100% seeds so easily, then I guess it would only be fair if there was a reset of seed (and possibly other items) purities.

This update is unfair and not realistic with the current servers, this only should have been released with a new servers so with a wipe only.

The idea i fully support, but not on started servers already.

This update just broke the game imo.

Give it a month and the game will be dead, Purity grinding just become x5 harder for new players, and established players who had some max purity humus stocked away will be back on track x1000 faster than new players.

Oh this game just become piss poor. MM, The Russians, Candy Crew and Dar on JT, just become the most powerfull factions period, and no one has a hope in hell of catching them ever.

Purity seeds are worthless now, unless your whole farming industry is built up first to accommodate the seeds.

I feel like playing salem last few months was huge waste of time :|
Now we are going back to pre-wipe times? or there is something different in current nodes except cunfusion?

oh please keep the tears coming :]

I was going to write some remarks but what's the point?

As far as I see it we now need 90% pure water, iron, clay and some left over humus to make new compost bins, on the plus side it's just a stop gap, a large one but still, when someone finally makes 100% pure boards we'll be right where we left off.

Dont know why everyone is getting their knickers in such a twist.
Its a beta game, and all its done really is level the playing field a bit.
The difference only really applies to farming, and then only to super powered farms with top level crops.
And they were always going to be ahead, they use alts, bots, etc etc.. and someone is always gonna be top dog.
Its going to take them weeks if not months to get trees high enough to make good compost.
Their trees as of this minute, are all 0% like ours. The only difference is they have some good humus atm, which will all be going on trees.
Calm down, take a deep breath and enjoy the challenge..

since all the seeds of worth currently in posession can not be used again until the owners acquire high end wood to keep from ruining them this change screws everyone equally and basically is a "mini wipe" that came in and erased the work those of us that ground out high purity farms put in because now we can not produce anything better than someone that started yesterday.

the only difference is some of us have high stat characters we worked on and some of you dont. most are not going to run those characters very often for fear of an internet outage or bad luck getting it killed.

this thread and all those like it is nothing more than the occupy wall street generation wanting the development of others reset so they can feel "even" for 2 days before they get left behind again and start ***** about something else.

So much crying.

First, who here remembers that they're playing in a beta test? Second, what happens when server transfer is made possible? Should the current three servers also be disallowed from going to server #4?

If you die, you make a new character. If your base is razed, you make a new base. If you find that an update has reduced your current strategy in effectiveness and you are limited as a result of the size of your base/humours of your neighbor, then move and build a new base.

I don't see how this made anything unfair. Anyone who assumes that they would have otherwise had 500+ humours in a matter of weeks is delusional or lying. And either way, as stated, this update affected everyone. No one could have seen this coming and even if they did, the tree grind couldn't begin until now. So, much like the lowest characters on the server, the highest are currently experimenting and grinding trees to see what works best.

How about someone actually goes through the trouble of getting high purity humus again so that we can see if humouring that high is still possible BEFORE we segment the already low population servers into yet another?
