One problem with that is that decay is a rather boring mechanic.

But we do have humor decay on high humor characters. Braziers damage max humor values.

A cap would be a ridiculous solution unless soak on all things is greatly reduced, and hp as well, or no one will be able to destroy the things they build. And if purity of wood is affecting humus bins now, what's next? Lovers lockets and nails affected by the anvil? Iron affected by the smelter? Food affected by the oven? We'll all need to be destroying some pretty tough stuff soon, I imagine.

I'm talking about a soft cap, not a hard one. We're only talking about 1 humor per day. You'd still get to gorge monsters it just would be a little harder to keep them there. And of course if you took two weeks off, you'd have to fix your decayed sturctures, why wouldn't you have to fix your weakened, malnurished 400 humor character.

Darworth, would you be completely opposed to a humor drain like I mentioned before, with a soft cap of 100

yes, contrary to popular belief i do have a life and frequently go for couple week to month stretches where i can scarcely play at all. decay mechanics are stupid and do nothing other than keep people from returning to the game when they have to temporarily stop playing it.

Well like I said, it's a slow decay, with a 400 humor guy it'd take you months to decay that much. What we're talking about is equalization, you wouln't lose any skills or anything.

Mabye start a new server but give everyone who purchased silver it to them via the bank, otherwise, i can barely bring myself to play knowing how this will effect things, just draining peoples humors slowly will only kill the population...

Well, then how would you fix it, so that a brand new player had a chance to catch you eventually within the same amount of game play time.
