Again, there's a thread which is why I'm not going into detail here. It's a long subject and deserves it's own guide.

Q about purity farming: viewtopic.php?f=5&t=5330&p=62257&hilit=purity#p62257
Crafting purity: viewtopic.php?f=5&t=5288&hilit=purity

There's a few more threads around, too.

It would be nice to have a comprehensive guide on this. I'm not a great writer, though, and haven't been playing enough recently to really consider myself authority enough on the subject to even try.

Is there a simple questions thread? I thought there was but am not finding in in the first three pages of help which suggests it is not being used.

Anyway, my simple question which may also be frequently asked is this: I have been trying to slot an indian feather into a storm hat. The game tells me my odds were 45% building up to 50% (increasing my faith and wisdom as I try). Five attempts have all failed. Is there something about indian feathers I don't get, or just my bad luck?

Many thanks.

Can anyone give me an idea of the splash range of splash damage regarding walls?

Hello fellow Pilgrims,

I have just started to play this game about two weeks ago and so far I like what I’m seeing. I do have a few beginners questions though that I would like answered if possible:

• How much biles are recommended to start hunting deer for an inexperienced player with only stomp/uppercut available? I can hunt single beavers succesfully but get ko’d against two of them.
• I just started to make leather. Do I really need 1 brain per piece of leather? If so it makes leatherproduction quite pricey.
• Is there anything a recently settled pilgrim can sell profitably and how? (I can make stuff like Minrealogical surveys, leather, dried/limed hides, boards) or is that all too low-level to sell?
• Clothing reduces “difficulty” for certain proficiencies. I can’t find what that means exactly… reducing difficulty from 50 to 20 for example…
• My only defence for my settlement is a improvised fence (the one with the branches) and my claim. Would it be unwise to build a carpenters bench out in the open? It seems to me a carpenters bench is very valuable (it costs a metal bar) and might invite raiders to my settlement?

Thanks in advance for any advice…

Hunting questions have been answered frequently. There's too much discussion over details to easily answer with everything else, so a search link: search.php?st=0&sk=t&sd=d&sr=posts&keywords=hunt%2A+deer

Yes. You need 1 brain (10L tanning fluid) per hide to tan. Only do it if you need the leather.

Anything. Hay is worth something. Berries can be worth something if you find a buyer. Granite and lime are always in demand.

That is for using Artificing. There's an in-depth article somewhere on it. Some artifacts will make digging and chopping trees easier. It's really recommended to either craft and slot these clothing items or buy them from an "expert".

A carpenter's bench an other simple tools are to be expected at any camp with or without a fence. What you want to avoid is a lot of drying frames (hides are worth silver), chests (mass storage to take from), or other large "civilized" tools such as kilns, smelters, etc that will say "rob me! I have too much money and don't care to spend it on defenses!" There's a couple of nice threads on this around.

I don't know if it deserves an actual tread, so I'll ask there: how the actual heck crop purity is working now? I mean, is there some place on forums or wiki where formulas for stuff are dicussed? All information I currently found is outdated.
I planted 90% seeds with 30% humus and got 2% outcome, that just confuses me.

There's threads for discussing this and how its calculated. I don't think anyone has come up with anything concrete yet.

Does anyone know if harvesting pumpkins in their first stage gives you the same amount of influence as harvesting them in their 3rd? Thanks
