Just exploring the area, as we said, this guy didnt even have larceny to do something to the claim, it was a unfortunate accident. He memorized the player but since it was an alt (and we didnt know it) he never logged in, and we had to pull the canoe back by ourselves.

Well, in the future, "Exploring the Area" can look a lot like casing the place or looking to see if the place is worth hitting. At that point the canoe was lost and should have been left there. Clearly to kill 3 characters, Darworth must have had other scents from somewhere else also. Did you rob or trespass on neighboring newb camps?

He just left the canoe when in the river and probably didn't have "show claims" turned on, which caused the canoe to be stuck in the claim (which covered the shallow river). We didn't even have the means to break through those stone hedges of the claim either way. I believed the claim owner wouldn't mind, since there wasn't even anything outside his walls and he never seemed to be online in the first place. I was aware of the risks. Not that the scent matters, we'd get wiped out eventually either way, as we were settled near Fort Wilderness, which I assume is Darwoth's.

One of the killed characters was hanging there when the area was being attacked (the one with Conquistador helmet) and the other was an alt, apparently.

It's alright either way, I hated that place and now I have an excuse to start over somewhere else.

Let's get this straight:

- We are not real life friends, we decided to play through a forum less than a month ago and without prior knowledge of the game.

got it, changed my post.
teutao3000 wrote:- The first guy that was killed wasn't even summoned, he died with a single stomp while trying to escape and getting stuck in a coal pile.
- Regarding Darwoth's secondary town: it was not his town, it was not even a town! He just chases random scents and he found ours.

Darworth says he owned the claim.
teutao3000 wrote:- Apart from the canoe, we were looking for a place for a new comrade, but to our surprise someone had claimed over an expired settlement a few hours before us and I was dumb enough to get my sled stuck inside it (again) while trying to move some unclaimed barrels.
- We wasted our iron to get larceny and retrieve both items, and that was our mistake. Nobody in our group had larceny before that.

Mistakes were made, that's for sure.

teutao3000 wrote:Does that make us newbies? Yes. Thieves? I don't think so.

How did he kill you all? Did he summon all you? Did you try and fight him? What about his claim of trespassing and larceny scents in neighboring claims?

As the river rolled over the cliffs, my own laughing joy was drowned out by the roaring deluge of the water. The great cataract of Darwoth's Tears fell over and over endlessly.

He didnt summon any of us (just the guy who had larceny and had taken the canoe back), the people he killed are hanging on the "town" on the moment of the attack or are alts trying to save something. As i said, we didnt have scents beside the ones on that village. And if this count there isnt any active claims nearby, just some big foretresses like fort justice and maplewhatsoever.

The guy with the iron helm tried to run, got stuck and was killed on a single stomp, no one reacted or tried to hit back, its not even a raid, more like a slaughter

I know, but "lol" isnt a ideomatic expression who means any verb who could be related to larceny on any way... You are laughing while you steal? You are stealing something on a funny way? You are stealing something in a lighthearted mood?

If you are stealing, you are a thief. The legal definition of stealing (on glorious AMERICA) is: the wrongful or willful taking of money or property belonging to someone else with intent to deprive the owner of its use or benefit either temporarily or permanenty. The propriety (canoe) belongs to him, so he can be charged as a trespasser NEVER as a thief.
