My homestead dissapeared

Postby Shadowlike » Thu Mar 21, 2013 11:57 am

Last night I was last in Salem, make my case and left. Everything was normal. This morning found the Homestead disappeared for no reason. He was claimed, the other I did not build, use it to move to Boston, that is, it was my ... He was standing in my friend territories, we played together.
But what is most offensive in Homestead are two chests with rare stuff, metal bars, iron nails, many items thats costs money. All of this are disappeared with homestead.
I like this game, but things like this are killing the desire to play. There was all the most expensive that I could earn on my own in a short period. :(
What can it be?

if you say claimed, do you mean covered by a player claim, or simply set as your homestead? either way, it's possible another player came along and destroyed it (which requires the waste skill), and ran off with your goodies.
I have neither the crayons nor the time to explain it to you.

Maybe this is possible, but then why no other stuff which lie on the open place didn't dissapeared? There was also some nice stuff including rare... I think this is some kind of bug.
And i dont think that some high-level player may just come and destroy it. Its has no reason... Especially when only noobs are surrounding us... I didn't played a lot, but already got a lot of battle skills, and didn't see this waste skill, which means that only most highest level can do this. And as i said i didn't see reason for this - ruin game to noobs by high-level..

there's just no ¦] big enough. The fun of it is plenty of reason for some players, and iron bars would make you a pretty target :)

Waste skill isn't that high: self-defence->trespassing->larceny->waste. Agreed, most new players won't have it, but anyone playing for a month or more is bound to have a crime character.

If your leanto was on unclaimed land, it's also possible that it was destroyed because of decay (which happens to all buildings not on claimed land). This would mean that the chests were scattered for anyone to pick up/take away.

my leanto was on claimed land... and i don't see any point to progressing in Salem, if any ass-hole can come and take anything that i crafted... Sick thing...

Last I knew, containers in a lean-to were destroyed with the lean-to. Not sure if that's a bug or not.

Salem is a game of life and death. For every life you have here you will inevitably have a death. Progression is much less about one character and their skills and possessions, it's about your family of characters. Raise a strong family so they can't be taken out because of a single death or raid.

As for your expensive items, you should have followed the first rule of Salem: log out with your valuables on your character. The only safe items in Haven are those within a character's inventory who has logged out and has no scents anywhere in the world.

Do yourself a favor and make a few Boston bank alts on another account. Sit them in Boston, never learn *any* skill with them or do anything, and just have them hold your valuable stuff. For instance, you could have had your iron and nails sitting on such an alt until you were ready to use them. That way no one could have stolen them from you.

Some folks say this sort of thing isn't realistic or somehow spoils the game. Just keep in mind that porting to Boston and allowing multiple characters are two mechanics of the game that can't really change without breaking the game totally. So bank alts are a fact of Salem life. Get used to it and leverage it to your advantage.

Did you pay upkeep on the claim?
