k You've proven how unreasonable you are. I distrust your judgment. Count my town as one of your enemies.

You have a town? You have taxes?

Since I have already traded with this fellow am I to be considered an enemy to the OP as well? Jokes aside.

TBH I hope things go well for this group and a trade clan sounds like a great idea for this server

And to all the nay sayers, Would you rather someone not have the balls to try this kind of thing? People that want to help will give criticism and the people that want it to fail are going to encourage it to grow just to see it fall harder.
But you know thats just like, my opinion... man

I hope it succeeds just to see something interesting happen somewhere besides Plymouth.

If you do this I will build claims and walls around your bases and make huge phallic symbols in stone and stupid cliffs and hills around them

Also if there is cross server transfer you may want to reset everything to stop a certain few groups automatically taking over every server at once

No, the rules only apply to members of the republic. He also isn't an enemy, untill aggression from his side he is not considered an enemy (unless the consul decides to impose sanctions against him, or start a war)
So: if he is an official enemy of the republic and you should be member of the republic you are wrong and you could be banned from the republic.

I am also busy with the ideas that has been said before in this topic, like about the merchant republic and how to enough money without annoying the members with (high) taxes. If you have any ideas or suggestions, please say so in this topic or PM me.

1. You need 4-5 guys you trust entirely. Preferably RL friends. They must be active. Like 4+ hours a day. These guys need to get killer alts with high humours. This is your foundation.
2. One or more of the guys you trust must have special interest in trading. They should also be skilled in the art of trading. A stall would be very beneficial.
3. The chosen trader receives trade goods (Whatever you choose to trade) from the citizens. The citizens is paid a fair, but not high price for their goods. The trader(s) add value by being able to take a higher price than the citizens by having access to a stall or by having time/skill to sell it in town/forum.
Thus the "republic" gets silver to common projects and warfare.

2. The only way this could suceed is if you already had a large, large faction backing this, and dedicated to it, and even then, it would be grieved horribly.

3. Chief is a ****** that thinks everything is about him, and should be ignored at all times.

1. RPing villages can succeed if the players want it bad enough.

I would consider even those posts that have been critical and somewhat rude as useful. While some critical posts offer no advice, a few others have.

Well, some indeed have been useful. Most of the times it's better to have critical advice too, that way you can sometimes spot a flaw in an idea wich you couldn't find yourself. But yeah.. there are also posts wich are simply trolling, or posting other offtopic things.

About the republic: Tomorrow i'll make some announcements, including news about the Khodemian Alliance, the exact form of the government, and more. ;)

Ps: Thanks for the ideas Dageir

I'm going to keep an eye on this and maybe commit an alt, but frankly any gatherings of people scares me. My first reaction would be to bury my head in the sand.
So, if you'd be interested in recruiting hermit-type players the biggest concern would be, can you offer security? And if somebody puts me down, can you track him and punish him?

I appreciate you're trying to do the opposite of a gang with the rules and measures of equality. But as Dageir already mentioned, you're going to need some amount of force in the mix to make sure everyone plays game. It doesn't mean you have to go around threatening people, but you'll need to clash with raiders / unruly citizens and come out on top, or the whole thing will collapse around you.

Best of luck in your endeavour though, I really hope it succeeds!
