If I am to assume anything about the perpetrators, there's three likely sources - locals who has noticed our decreasing activity and decided to strike; the russians who previously scouted our area with alts and demanded iron tribute; traders, tracking us through usage of scented goods. '

Aside from those three, I don't think we've made much of enemies as we've attempted to keep a low profile. The only contact we've had with rangers, was just after new years after the personal claim of one of our friends expired, and we knocked out a looter at his property.

That said, we did lead a quite agressive isolationist policy in november, killing and chasing off a handful of encroaching nubs. It could of course be one of those returning with a vengeance.

As for giving away the property of the town - while I do appreciate the ranging you've done, I'm very much against giving things to starting players simply because it deprives them of what the game is about. If you want payment for the ranging, I could arrange for some of my seed stock or help you out with my combat alt a few times instead.

I'd put my money on those Russians that asked for iron tribute. Other neighbors have been hit in the area. That little camp just north of you on the penninsula, which is now unclaimed had it's gates blown it looks like. I've mentioned the 3 other raids, but those all led to the Rosie's in the west. And I don't think they're Russian.

As always, vengeance sometimes takes forever. I knew you guys were peaceful for the last couple of months and hadn't killed anybody to my knowledge. I didn't know about the killing in November. Seems by what your camp looks like that you hadn't been raiders for awhile. Hopefully the killing was justified and there was a reason and it wasn't just killing people while raiding folks. The first rule of raiding should be that you leave them their character so that they can rebuild and you can hit them again next month. Let it also be a warning to all raiders. Someday that newb's not going to be a newb anymore, and they'll come looking for you.

As for payment, I don't need anything. Just post anything else about raids in the SW. As to the fort, I just read about you giving up the game, and figured it would be a shame if that pretty camp fell into Russian hands. Thanks again for pulling the location of [the place that shall not be named], I'm glad that we could prove it wasn't them. Like I said, I hope you stay with the game.

Sounds like SB or his friend Claeyt who mapped whole roa?

After hearing about the Russian that demanded iron, after tracking the scents toward Russian towns, I can't prove it was CoD. In fact I doubt VVindy would even attack a town this size. It's probably someone who knows the CoD though, and feels comfortable living near them. I've heard from 5 or 6 people about the iron tribute and all of them had been told that the demanding Russians were members of the CoD. You guys should definitely make some ground rules for membership, as you now have so many Russians that know you and are throwing around membership in the CoD pretty loosely.

As for it being SB and me. I didn't even meet SB until a couple of weeks ago. SB has been friends with the Fort in question for months, and I have been kinned into the fort to search for clues and had free reign and took nothing but scents, not even coal for my boat. So it's idiotic to think it was us.

As to mapping, We don't have the whole of Roanoke, but I think it's safe to say we have by far the most complete and accurate map of Roanoke out there, and no you can't see it, EVER.

Wait I am confused. So I made little investigation by my own... but still got few questions :)

So there were any scents from Fort to "Rosie"?
Any scents from other 3 raids... btw how long you have been tracking those raiders if you got confirmations from 4 raids (3 other + fort)?

And in other thread you said:
My guess is a single member of the Town called 'The Order of the Crimson Rose' hit a claim near them without permission and thought there's no way this newb digger has Ascent to the Summit or can go this far in the time it would take.

You are good and fast friend then if you crossed those mountains so fast... or maybe your camp is near Fort or on other side of lake : :?:

ohhh really you are so sure about this one... while blaming everyone else around fort you protect this one guy who said he is thief and he likes to robb newbie camps...

tweenprinc3ss wrote:As far as pclaims go, i feel it is awful. This narrows the choices I have as a player, and forces someone to be a raider to be a successful criminal. No longer can I play the role of the slick thief

I am surprised that even his profile near 100 biles is almost correct...

tweenprinc3ss wrote:This is assuming you have a force to bring to the table. I am a single person. I make waste claim, they alt vault and possible just destroy my waste claim. One of my thieves is 40/70/40/70. Is was all about stealing. He now can do pretty much nothing but try and vulture abandoned claims or noob outposts. I only hope they make whatever changes need to be made to this system very soon, if that is adding more options, or removing this unrealistic warning system entirely. It still just makes absolutely no sense to me. There is no basis in reality to back this system, and that is what bothers me the most. It is at best a bandaid for an unbalanced system the dev's are having a hard time balancing.

Like you knew him/her? Maybe that is why you protect this person? I have interesting assumption... maybe you guys work together?

It is common tactic for scammers/weak thiefs... raid and pretend ranger/tracker to blame someone else and take reward... ohh wait... you asked fort mayor for seeds and land? :| What a surprise

What? You are friends with SB too what a surprise again.

Trenial wrote:Just wanted to let yall know, broskies be raiding your goodies atm. 4 of them. Hitting you from your SE corner. (Your sad 1 wall didn't stop much) I have 2 sets of scents. They're roughly my humours with Admiral gear. I boulder glitched home. Will grab more scents, track their claims. Let ya know what I find. The 2 so far don't point towards "Versa Live". Point far north across the lake: Possible canidates are the vclaim in the Caldera. Will have a gander. 8-)

Wait a minute... so friendly Sitting Bull instead of help during defence of the fort... he just took scents and started to track raiders?
And he was so successful he found 5 raiders camps/towns and all around poor fort kickass... while fort wasn't raided for weeks or months even if, so near of them was so many raiders :?:

But they are getting raided after SB is starting to post his war against Russians... and look he is first at crime scene!!! He is fastest ranger ever or... he did not turn up there by accident :|

Anyone surprised again?

Really guys you should change scriptwriter, because your current sucks
Just get better stats and raid fort if you want their land and seeds, don't write so many ***** on forums

This politicking is annoying me. I would track it down myself, but I haven't really got the hours to spend right now. That said, I did also give Azor the hearth secret, so he should be able to verify or refute the track claims.

Edit: Ive done some tracking of the immediate area, the scents does not lead to any of the suspected neigbours. The vault is quite distant north, I imagine - too far for me to search for vengeance.

Today, at least.

That said, how does the rules for unsiegeable locations work in this game? I seem to remember areas where one couldn't place rams in H&H, getting salted by jorbtar. Does this apply for Salem as well?

Claeyt wrote:That little camp just north of you on the penninsula, which is now unclaimed had it's gates blown it looks like.

This was done by us, after the claim had expired. The area was empty of anything of value, so the owner had probably abandoned it and moved.

I have always been very upfront. I have never denied raiding, and have in fact posted in the help section many times advising noobs in how to protect themselves from thieves. I DID say that I had nothing to do with this raid, and that is the truth. I will add, raid mechanics are a part of this game, pvp and permadeath also, if you want to understand and excel at these aspects how would u suggest doing so without experience. The days of me learning the crime mechanics at the expense of the weak are over.

--Claeyt, if you think u would have a chance against me, wake up. Your pvp experience is zero.

The three of us SB, me and Maxeusz have all proven you had nothing to do with this. In fact I think we've proven that nobody on the lake or on this side of the mountains had anything to do with this. All of us proved that the scent went North over the mountains. Azor is now on the trail over the mountains to prove that CoD had nothing to do with it, and hopefully find out who is demanding iron in the name of the CoD without being part of the CoD. So Chill, my stumpy brother. Relax. Breath the fresh lake air. ooooohmmmmmm....

Now as to raiding, who cares, you've given up newb raiding awhile ago. We are all on to bigger and better rangering things right?

I no longer have no PVP experience, but I live the code of the mining brotherhood, smoke up the wall and the metal will fall like fresh autumn leaves. Bury your metal deep and avoid all intruders. I'd definitely agree that you have more PVP experience than I do. Where's that coming from, did I say I had more somewhere. All I ever said was that you didn't do this. Relax, nobody's accusing you of committing a single crime in the area.

Do you mind if I tell a newb friend about it. so that he can throw down a claim stone? He's a total hippie, and will probably use the rock crusher to grind his tier 3 weed fields.

Feel free to say no, if you have plans for it. It's a **** location anyways, just thought I'd give the guy something to play with.
