If ever a large faction finds my hermitage and tries to extort me then I would most likely pay up. However, praising the faction that robs you is to me insane.

You should just log off and move. You hurt them more by not paying then they do from taking your ****.

Nah, they'll just camp the pixels where you logged out in order to kill your character's pixels so that they can continue their pixel monopoly

Also I can't believe the length some squatters go to praise MM when they aren't even members. Do you actually enjoy being extorted?

Maybe because if you're going to support someone, you may as well support them? Also, you might call it extortion, but treaty payers don't get raided by the tribe, and since the tribe has mostly eliminated every other danger in Plymouth through extensive raiding of non treaty payers, paying the treaty means safety. People who don't enjoy the fighthing/raiding aspect of the game enjoy being safe and will be grateful for the safety.

It's technically coercion, a type of extortion. If you don't want it labeled as such, you can simply not raid people who don't pay, but not help them if someone else raids them either. Then it would be paying for a legitimate service and not, in fact, the extortion that it currently is. Not that extortion is wrong, the Goon Protection Racket was pretty lulzy and I did it myself in Haven with any local newbies I came across while tracking. Just don't deny it when people rightfully accuse you of such. It makes you look weak.

Good evening,

I'm not saying it's not extortion. I'm just saying it's rude to point it out! It makes the rest of the conversation so unpleasantly awkward.

Faithfully,
