I'm paid up on my treaty, got hit: BY TRIBE

Postby Heceldi » Mon Mar 04, 2013 6:16 am

I paid my treaty, with my third month's payment to the tribe due in about a week.

Last night, tribe stopped by; knocked down a dozen or so walls, destroyed a windmill, destroyed a townhouse, destroyed various other buildings, and took hundreds of ingots, and whatever else they could carry. Estimated market value of destroyed and stolen property is to the tune of about 50k silver. They knocked out my friend on his walk back from Boston, apologized, and walked with him to help him get back (until they had to log off, it's a long walk).

Do I pursue repayment from Tribe?

If not, since I hired tribe to help deal with other raiders; and now they are the raiders, who do I hire to raid them?

House Aftermath (Forum cuts it off, rest here.)

For the record, the portion on bottom and right side were expansions since my last payment, and I was going to get it taken care of this coming weekend when I was going to make my next payment.

Paymaster Paul did not send a PM receipt for my last payment, but it was made in Boston in iron ingots the weekend of 2/9/13.

Neither myself nor the friend living in my area were online during the raid, however Dangerous Dan was the character who asked my friend if the house was raided. He then said they are the ones who raided, and after finding out we were paid up, he walked back my friend part of the way. It is a few hour walk, so he had to log before my friend made it all the way back.

I look forward to the tribe's larping and explanation of this :) Do you have logs of messages from PaymasterPaul confirming your payments?

So you expanded the claim and failed to pay for the additional space AND you were not paid up for the month of March? I will await to see the Paymasters Response but it sounds like you were in violation of the Treaty by using more space than you paid for AND you failed to make this months payment. Please clarify.

2/9/13 payment would have been for his 2/1/13 - 3/1/13 Treaty time if he did indeed pay. The fact that the payment was made 8 days late does not mean that he gets an 8 day grace period into the next month. I'm pretty sure most Treaty Payers are clear that when the paymaster sends out their notices on on the beginning of the month it covers that month in question and not one month from whatever day they actually choose to pay it.

Good evening,

This is a false flag operation.

This fellow paid his Treaty for the month of January (see this thread) and then did not re-up in February. His claim to have made a payment on February 9th is an outright lie. He was given a full month's grace period for the delinquency, and still did not make his payment. He doesn't have any confirmation receipts, because he didn't make the payments. Existing Treaty Members who have been delinquent know our procedures - warning is given prior to action being taken.

I suspect Coles convinced him not to pay, just so he could post this after he got hit (supported by the rehearsed forum play between them). It is common practice for the GH folks to let other folks take the risk while playing the forum warrior from the sidelines.

Faithfully,

Incorrect, I noticed his post on another thread and felt he should post in its own thread due to the drama that would come with it :)
I've never spoken to the OP before reading his post

So Dan just sent a message to my friend...
Dangerous Dan: Hmmm, I did not expect such things from you
Friend: ?
Dangerous Dan: I thought we had come to an agreement
Friend: I did not say anything
Dangerous Dan: Treaty for February was never paid
Dangerous Dan: Not for March
Dangerous Dan: You were delinquent and not under protection from Tribe
Dangerous Dan: If you are spotted again, your life is forfeit

I'd have my friend screenshot, but he's almost 50 and the fact he's playing a computer game is a big step for him. I tried, and gave up, trying to explain screenshots.

I was understanding a month's payment was for a month. I didn't realize, nor was I told the first month was full amount for partial month, ending on the last day of the first month, and one month then being start of month to end of month. My first payment was not on 1/1, it was just over a week later. My second payment was made two days after that same day of the month as the first payment. As I've paid for two months, it should be due again the same day of the month as the first payment, two months later.

Last PM from tribe:
Your Insurance Policy Application

Sent: Wed Jan 09, 2013 4:36 am
From: Ikpeip
To: Heceldi
Good evening Heceldi,

Thank you for your interest in purchasing an insurance policy. The first step is the first month's payment, which is half of the total authority limit for your personal claim, or twice the total authority limit of your town bell. My hours of business tend to be from 12:30am UTC-7am UTC (6:30pm-1:30am CST), and I can be reached during those hours.

If you can provide a homestead secret to add you to kin, I will attempt to meet you for the transaction. I can be added to kin with the homestead secret "Better Call Paul". If my hours do not overlap with your own, let me know and I will arrange for another agent with more European hours to meet with you. Aside from collecting payment, all our interactions and documentation will be handled by myself.

For your preparation, after payment there are a few documents/actions to be completed:
-The Chief will add you to kin so that your claim is identifiable if happened across by chance, and no mistakes are made. This is crucial - without being able to identify a claim as yours, we are not able to identify if it is protected.
-A screenshot of your claimstone should be sent (I recommend uploading to http://www.imgur.com and PMing the link). This picture does not need to include your claim itself unless you wish. It does need to include the upkeep bar. Some applicants wish to include a picture of the claim so we are more easily able to identify it and ensure its immunity from raiders, while other applicants more highly desire anonymity. I do not make a recommendation one way or the other.
-Two birch trees should be planted in front of your gate. These trees are not required for protection, but are highly recommended. From time to time, overeager MM Braves have been known to strike out on their own, but the presence of two birch trees is an indication that the claim is most likely protected, and they will need to check against my documentation before proceeding.

Faithfully,

-Paul the Paymaster

Last PM sent January 9th. This seems to confirm the Paymasters records that you did not make you February payment. What made you think your january 9th payment would have been good all the way to March 4th?
