I just wanted to step in here Sevenless and say thank you so much for your guide. I did read the guide from top to bottom and, along with Zahk and Eegore's vids, found it to be priceless for my first week in Salem.

Actually, I wish there had been more in there, and eagerly await your take on subjects like Agriculture and such, but I also understand how time consuming this has to have been for you. Putting a guide together that covers every aspect of a tremendously multifaceted game like this is more daunting than I personally would ever consider. Kudos to you Pilgrim!

And, for what it's worth, in my 14+ years of online gaming and MMOing I have never played a game like Salem and had never heard of H&H. Your reminiscence on the loss of your veteran character there was quite interesting to me, and served as a perfect cautionary tale. I'm just glad I got to see it before it was removed.

Glad I could be of service Rondin, welcome to Salem. There was a point (not made by others, but likely thought) that the cautionary tale was self serving in promoting my own stories. Furthermore I realized it was simple to cut out and ultimately didn't change the impact of the statement terribly.

As for more, it'll come as the features settle down. Mining for example: I'm unsure if we're keeping this system, if it's a placeholder, etc. Farming should be coming up next though.
It's been neat to see the evolution of a game. Salem has come so far, and still has far to go. Although frustrating, I think it's been an experience worth the effort.

You can build a 'stove' there.

You probably need to learn some cooking skills first.

1. House model ends around green line or even a bit further.
2. Extension would go INTO house model so you can't extend.
For future try to start building from house(place cornerpost while holding ctrl)
Now you can try building one more cornerpost(with ctrl so its not aligned to grid) a bit further away from wall. Between house, crates and wall.

You can't lock houses at least now.

farm house is harder to destroy than your stone walls by a fair bit. But yes, they can destroy the house. It's better to have your entire base wrapped in a wall if you can.
