Cheat Sheet to Avoid Perma-Death

Postby jwhitehorn » Sun Feb 24, 2013 10:59 pm

Greetings Filthy Squatters of Salem,
I have noticed recently that there is a thread in circulation where a player is having a hard time understanding how to permadie in this game:
viewtopic.php?f=5&t=4508

I have also noticed that it has become a practice to provide the community with helpful image cheat sheets on how to be successful in Salem. As such I felt that it would be a nice tool for all new players to see what EXACTLY their options are to avoid death and what actions will lead to their demise. This is simply a cheat sheet.

As long as you are a Blue Bubble you are EXTREMELY safe and have a VERY low probability of being murdered. If you decide to do things that land you into the red then the chances of death are MUCH higher. This is the Salem Tree of Life and at this current moment in time the higher you climb the Tree the safer you are. The Lower into the ground you go the farther the Tribe will dig to find you. Should fall from the Tree and decay on or under the ground then the spoils from your raid and body feed and nourish those who continue a path along the tree. Thus is the circle of Salem life.

NOTE TO MODS:
While I understand that this is rooted (pardon the pun) in some politics currently POLITICS and lack of their understanding is the LEADING CAUSE OF DEATH IN SALEM! I plead with you to leave this in the HELP! section until a time in which my Scalp Thread is no longer the leading cause of Salem death.

NOTE TO POSTERS:
This is NOT the House of Burgesses and, therefore, this should not be the place to discuss the drama that surrounds some of these in-game choices. Almost every bubble in this Tree has its OWN thread in the HoB. Any poster looking to argue/dispute the chart that will incite derail and drama should post their responses there. In THIS thread I will only be answering questions regarding in-game actions and where they place you on the tree (and the % chance that you will die as a result of them).

This can and will provide more help to those who read and study it than 99% of posts in this Forum. Right Section.

It would be very interesting to see or hear if the Dev's have any statistics to total player deaths via accounts. I know the Tribe has killed over 300 non-treaty paying players in the last 6 months and that over 90% of the murder threads made on the forums seem to be by those who have not paid the Treaty. Also it is unfair to limit it to Plymouth. In recent events the Russians attempted to kill several players but they simply vaulted in the MM Tribe Embassy. Therefore, those Treaty payers on Roanoke were NOT permakilled as a direct result of being a blue bubble in my cheat sheet. Treaty Payers on other servers are protected by the MM Tribe Embassy's so this is not isolated to one server only. Any player on any server should be able to use this (but it should be important to note that they cannot currently rise the tree any higher until cross-server transfers open).

I don't think this belongs in the help section either. Moving to City upon a Hill.

Dearest logan
As a non treaty payer you have a 30 percent chance to be in my scalping thread in the next 60 days. I have reason to believe that you have been communicating with known terrorists of salem but you have not been convicted of this yet. My advice to you is to enjoy each day as if it is your last.
