Takes 4-5 days to make a T3 field from fresh, once you have the production setup.

By "production setup" do you mean "some hundreds of hay stacked up" by chance?
Anyway, i don't doubt they'll nerf it someway, probably giving nerfs for invariance in fertilizers.

I mean 48 cereal fields on a 2 day cycle (7 coal used per field) (For the hay)
10~20 cabbage fields on a 3 day cycle (for humus production)

48 hay +150~ Humus = 2000% influence.

So a total of 70~ fields, once setup, with easy upkeep can produce a T3 field every 4-5 days (depending on what field you want)

You get 48 hay every 2 days from cereal fields + humus from cabbage, meaning you can get a 0>100% influence bar every 2 days.

Taking into account you May need to plant pumpkin, hence 5* days, and not a soild 4, i really need not say more. You could make it a soild 4 days, but you will need to coal up way too much on the pumpkin cycle it would be killer, needing like 300-400 coal.

I doubt they ever balanced the system with similar setups in mind, though. I mean, it seems a bit over the top as a farm (and i would suppose you're using one-tile fields to do this). And i still think they will do something about the hay spam (aka, invariance for fertilizers).

I do not use 1x1 field setup. I have the mod installed, but i do not use fields as 1x1. So if/when they are nuked, i will not give a flying rats ass as it does not effect me.

Do not get me wrong, i work part of a group, and we have a dedicated farmer who only farms and he loves it. Im just giving you the clear cut numbers required to do what We do.

i'm not going to argue how vast the gulf between new players and advance players should be, except for stating that shortcuts is akin to truncating content.

i'm sure however that most people who played or experienced the early stages of the purity grind race would say that it was indeed a fun element in the game. one experience that seems to come to an end once someone reaches high end seeds and then spam them in trade or gifts.

maybe there is no way to relive that experience except with a new server.

Very true, early in the game there is a unique race for purity. It was fun and the market evolved.

Then again, early game, very few people had murder. Very few people could take your walls down in a few blows.

As salem stands it has a very much reversed difficulty curve. Early game is horrific (you are very likely to get your home nuked), though the devs are doing well to address this. Mid game is not too bad (if you have your defences up then only high level players can (And will) nuke you). Late game is like crapping rainbows in a land filled with pots of gold (No-one can get into your vault, no-one can kill you and you've fed up a ton of alts just in case). Nerfing seed purity for new players would just make this curve even worse.
