If only we could pick them up and dump them in the ocean, problem solved.

Easier solution (I think...): can't set carried objects down inside Boston. (I can already think of one potential flaw with this...)

There are a bunch of metal chests scattered about in Roanoke right now. I guess it's not a priority since the owners were smart enough to put them in out of the way locations instead of right in the road. It's cheesy as all hell though.

Jorb's probably just been too busy to have to manually go to each server to clean up the cities. Much like with bugs, unless it hampers gameplay or completely ruins aesthetic appeal, it's likely not a huge priority.

I was under the impression that the main cause of concern was these storage containers being used to block off areas, thereby being an act of griefing.

Both the chest and the cupboards are placed in out of the way locations and pose no problems. I can understand how the cupboards at the harbor would be difficult to navigate your way around though...

I'd understand if they got nuked, and I think anyone would be silly to use them for permanent storage but... What's the problem?

They've been nuked when they clutter the area too badly for people to get around or are blocking other useful functions of the cities. Most people are using them as a personal secure container to trade or pass materials between alts.
