If people are willing to pay real money for in game storage instead of hassling with alternative accounts, power to them. That's effectively selling convenience since accounts and characters won't be limited come open beta (I assume anyway).

Doing it for silver though, that would be a mistake. If it's too easy to store important items, raiding is going to become pretty worthless. That's a fair staple interest driver late game from my experience with Haven.
It's been neat to see the evolution of a game. Salem has come so far, and still has far to go. Although frustrating, I think it's been an experience worth the effort.

Isn't it worthless too if all your valuables are stored on alts?

encouraging safe storing by official function and privately using alts as storage are two different things imo. using alts for storage is not the intended usage while official storing for absolute safety will be an intentional feature.

As far as game design goes, allowing a feature to exist without trying to prevent it, intended or not, is "official" condoning of the action. We know people are going to use alts to store objects, not counting on that happening would just be short sighted.

In H&H it loftar has considered making hearthfires lootable. There could be something similar for alts: make it so that if you do not have a homestead (from which your inventory can be looted), all your inventory is lost upon logging out.

Sarpynom wrote:1 200 items is fine... if you're selling high ticket items. Some items people need a LOT of like coal, bricks etc. In this case 200 items is not enough.

2 Stalls should be account-wide, meaning all characters on the whole account should be able to access the stall. Otherwise we should be able to set permissions.

3 One good thing I have noticed is low priced items do not have to pay tax. It would suck to have to pay 1s taxes on a 3s item, so good job there.

4 It would be nice if we could put a name on the stalls that people can see when they walk by.

5 It would also be nice to be able to sell carried items (logs, boulders, sleds, anvils, etc), but that would mean we would need to be able to tp to Boston carrying things (and I am wondering why this isn't allowed). Most of our big ticket items as of right now are all carried - why can't we sell these in boston?

6 I would *like* to be able to manage my store without having to tp to boston, it sucks to have to go back and forth 1000 times to drop things in it.

1 rent another stall

2 why on earth?

3 yes, that's cool

4 *****'s ***** Cockring and ***** Emporium

5 but then you could teleport with chests... think about it.

6 maybe you should sell less quantity of items and instead focus on slightly higher value items? are you seriously buying coal?

I've always hated that idea

What Id actually like a lot is a possibility to pay the rent for the next few weeks in advance...

You would think the rent would be automatically deducted from funds on the stall. If it is not that way, it should be.
