And this is a prime reason that grouping with people is not encouraged in this game, unless you know them personally and trust them. Single village member can bring down whole village.

Even that doesn't do any good. Look up Goons vs BOB (Band of Brothers) in relation to EVE. Much lulz will be had by the end of the story.

Long story short--Goons show up in game. BoB almost immediately tries to run them out. Goons don't give up and keep growing. Goons eventually become an alliance of their own and a force to be reckoned with. Much warring ensues. Trusted BoB general gets sick of the infighting and defects to the other side and takes down the largest alliance in the game in just a few keystrokes. However, after the Great Conquest, focus is lost, leadership gets bored, and the Swarm gets nuked in about the same fashion. (I know I probably don't have the full story on last part, but I'm trying to be very brief.)

Morale of the story: even your most trusted people can and will betray you. Don't trust anyone! (I believe Machiavelli penned that first.)
