And i don't get this thing about casuals not understanding. It is one of the few things very clearly and well explained in the tutorial. If you meant people who cannot read English or have the comprehension ability of a chimpanzee then maybe. But i think they would struggle with other aspects of the game aswell.

Current system is not bad if you don't count purity and stats above 150 vs walls (stone wall got soak 25 and plank 50?)
and I don't like arcade part of gluttony.

I agree with the premiss that Insprational system has reached "perfection" and that Gluttony still has a ways to go.

But I don't agree that the central flaw in Gluttony is 'highest stat determines difficulty of all", that's annoying but probably necessary to keep PvP at least remotely balanced, also keep in mind that in Haven their were nearly twice as many stats involved so now it's practically a no-brainier to level up all stats in parallel.

The flaw is in the complexity and randomness of what stats get raised. The alchemical purity system should all be scrapped and replaced with something more like the Tier system that crops use. Discrete Tier's make trade vastly more efficient because it comodifies products, and if everyone produces some product above and below their average they always have an incentive to trade away that "premium" and "bargain" product to the player base that's consuming at that level.

Once you get purity you know what you are going to get everytime.

I have to agree on replacing the timed minigame with something more like filling proficiency bars.

I would rather have required gluttony points depend not on highest stat but on the sum of stats. Meaning that with each humour increase next one is a little harder, no matter which humour is it.

Goes right back to noobs complaining about screwing their stats up.
It's been neat to see the evolution of a game. Salem has come so far, and still has far to go. Although frustrating, I think it's been an experience worth the effort.

Well, assuming that required # of points would be the average of humours, then noob with 5 blood, 5 phlegm, 5 yb and 20 BB would be in better position than currently. He would require 9 points instead of 20 to raise any stat.

Exactly the main 'feature' of Gluttony goes away as you reach the end-game, whats the point of a mini-game that's designed to go away? If randomness is so great why aren't the elite players being rewarded with MORE of it?

Not sure I should engage this discussion seeing how I've only played for 3 days.

I can say this though, I don't get the Gluttony system and all the numbers of each food. I have been watching videos trying to explain it and they don't help. I've also read the in-game explanation and it too doesn't help.
The first time I tried out gluttony I had several strings of berries (don't remember the actual name). Hovering the food item showed an extended red bar so I assumed it would increase Blood, which it did. I managed the same thing for Black Bile with some type of mushroom. But when I tried other mixed foods that seemed to favour a certain Humour it turned out to be a complete waste of food.

With that said, I don't expect to know all the ins and outs of the game within 3 days.

But the coloured numbers of food makes no sense to me.
I'm having tons of fun with the inspirationals though. :D

That's actually a great idea.

So a person with 5-5-5-30 would need the same to go from 5->6 or 30->31 as a person with 10-10-10-10 would need to go from 10->11 (in anything)

I really really like this idea. Your humor being based on the sum of all your humors, as opposed to just one humor. I think that's brilliant.
