1. Torchpost is a worse version of Brazier?
2. Placing and mixing as many as I can Torchpost and Braziers is best way to defend my walls etc?
3. Where is my character (person + equipment) when I: a) log off b) go to sleep c) travel from Home to Providence d) log out in Providence?
4. Two mines which are close each other can be connected Underground or Underground is seperated location for any individual mine?
5. What's the way of killing my char while I'm offline? (ref. to 3.) Is there's any method to prevent death like this?
6. If I leave open gate of my base is it make easier for someone to break in?
7. How can I know that I'm in the Darkness. Is theres any way to make sure where Darkness begin? I was walking for a long time few days ago and one thing I noticed was only Humour drain and Rats, but Rats don't spawn always and Humours don't drain so fast that I would be able to mark the border between Normal Biome and Darkness.
8. Were there any big changes that should I know in base building, fighting, defending, criminal acts, etc since 2016?
9. Which one is easier to break though - wall or gate?
1. Torchpost and braziers are different types of defenses. Torchposts have less damage but bolster more range than a brazier.
2. Multiple of the same defense within their own respective range reduces the damage of each defense. So 3 torchposts that cover each other will mean all 3 torchposts when firing will deal approximately 33% dmg of its full damage per shot. Braziers in range of torchposts however do not reduce each others damage as they are different defenses. It is recommended to use both defenses.
3. The only way for someone to steal the actual items on your character is by having access to your leanto/Active Pclaim Stone when you are logged off. As long as you have walls etc. they cannot steal straight from your character without first going through said walls.
4. Every mine is a separate instance no matter how close or far. Two mines can however be connected through an underworld but a mine that has not reached the underworld is safe from being traveled to via the underworld. (The underworld is called The Dream World and you must reach level/floor 9 in a mine to unlock it)
5. A character may not be killed while offline unless you have committed summonable crimes on that character where you can either be summoned directly from near your leanto/Pclaim or being sent to the stocks and dying whilst in the stockades if people really want you dead in there.
6. Yes. Never leave your gates open. If you have a hard time remembering to close your gates behind you then you can purchase a Spring Pack from the Salem Store for real money. A spring once attached to a gate will make the gate automatically close after about 15 seconds of being left open.
7. Press Ctrl+D shortcut whilst in-game and if the b: "number" at the end of the text is lower than 62.75 then you are starting to go into Darkness.
8. Beats me.
9. A gate is easier to break through in that multiple people can bash it at once but if I remember correctly a gate is also repaired extremely fast compared to the speed it takes to repair a wall.
