more season, summer related stuff and others

JC said there's "heatstroke" in test server, make me thinking "we should have more seasons"

Currently seasons is fine, but should have more content and some small mechanic rework, here's my thought

Season change mechanic
  • each "normal" season last 7 days(or more), when this season end, follow up twilight about 24 hours(or more), then next season.
    • ex: season1(7 days) -> twilight(24 hours) -> season2
  • if witch summon "bad season", first turn into twilight about 12 hours(or less), then it will "replace" the original season until this season end. praying in prov's town church will reduce the time lasts and
    • ex1: season1(2 days) -> twilight(12 hours) -> "bad season"('til day 7) -> twilight(24 hours) -> season2
    • ex2: season1(2 days) -> twilight(12 hours) -> "bad season"(only last 2 days because of ppl praying) -> twilight(12 hours) -> season1('til day 7) -> twilight(24 hours) -> season2

Hypothermia, Hyperthermia, Frostbite and Heatstroke
  • Hypothermia
    • pretty much same as currently version, but instead, frozen will slowly decrease your all humor, when one of your humor decreased to 0, you will get KO'd, unfrozen and get a debuff "Frostbite ".
  • Hyperthermia
    • opposite of hypothermia, when your temperature get too high, you will immediately KO'd and get a debuff "Heatstroke".
  • Frostbite: reduces all 4 humor(stack up to 50% or more of max humor), if you got KO'd multiple time due to hypothermia will stack this debuff, when this reach full bar, you will die permanently.
  • Heatstroke: just like frostbite.

Thermal adjustment
  • higher thermal value for most of cloth(coat, shirt, cape, etc.), few of cloth have low thermal value. low thermal for most of hat and shoes
this may force player wear less cloth or make specific low thermal cloth to deal with summer day and hyperthermia.
or make high thermal cloth to deal with cold day and hypothermia.

Seasons

normal season:
  • Everbloom
    just like currently Everbloom, nice and warm.
    • Butterflies.
    • Fruits can only yield and harvested at this season.
    • Bears.
    • Crops harvest amount is 150%.
    • Creatures and flowers spawn rate increase.
    • berries, nuts regrow faster
  • Summerheat
    summer, heat, don't wear too many cloth!
    • Butterflies spawn rate decrease.
    • Crops harvest amount is 120%.
    • fruit food will not rotten at this season.
    • Hyperthermia.
  • Windyautumn
    • Butterflies will not spawn.
    • Crops harvest amount is 100%.
    • Beavers,deers and bears fatten up with gelatinous lard.
    • Creature spawn rate decrease.
    • Rotten fruit.
    • berries, nuts etc. will not regrow
    • Hypothermia - but will not let you turn into ice.
  • Coldsnap
    winter is coming
    • Bears, snakes, Butterflies will not spawn.
    • some ice-related item will spawn near water.
    • Beavers,deers fatten up with Gelatinous Lard.
    • Sleds are pulled faster.
    • Blistersteel Bars cool much more quickly.
    • Crops harvest amount is 70%.
    • Hypothermia.
    • berries, nuts etc. will not regrow
    • ice - talk about this later.
  • Twilight
    sunset.
    • its dark, but its peaceful, nothing bad will happen.
    • nothing special bonus, and nothing bad. .
    • unique stuff can only be found at twilight.


summonable seasons, can only summon by witch:

  • Being online at the moment of those seasons begins adds 2 madness levels worth of Insanity! Rate at which you accumulate Insanity is also much higher.

  • Bloodmoon
    • Fainting outdoors during a Blood Moon will cause your character to die permanently.
    • Bleed effects are now magnified.
    • Sifting gives Blood Shards instead of Gems.
    • Arcane Amethyst can be found when chipping boulders.
    • unique drop from animals that can only obtained at this season.
    • unique Inspirational that can only obtained at this season.
  • Locust plague
    • can only summon at everbloom
    • Locust, a stronger version of wartbite cricket(even stronger than rabbit) will spawn at this season, locusts will spawn in group, its not aggressive, but it will "attack" your field crop(just like crow), it will slowly decrease the plenty until 50%(or less?), up to 4 locusts attack 1 field.
    • dead locust can also count as cricket to make unique Inspirational (locust team?).
    • cricket spawn rate also increase.
    • unique drop from animals that can only obtained at this season.
    • unique Inspirational that can only obtained at this season.
    • berries, nuts etc. will not regrow
  • Heatwave
    • can only summon at Summerheat
    • Hyperthermia
    • unique drop from animals that can only obtained at this season.
    • unique Inspirational that can only obtained at this season.
  • Duststorm
    • can only summon at Windyautumn
    • smog, decrease the visibility and movement speed.
    • stay outside will get a "coughing" debuff, you will flinch and make a distinct coughing sound, get more often over time, if you stay outside too long, it will get worse and let you KO'd at end. wearing any mask or equip a silk hanky can let you stay outside much longer. notice that mask have different efficiency to against it(15% ~ 60%).
    • unique drop from animals that can only obtained at this season.
    • unique Inspirational that can only obtained at this season.
    • Crops harvest amount is 80%, and growing speed will be 60% as usually due to the bad weather.
    • berries, nuts etc. regrow slower
  • Blizzard
    • can only summon at coldsnap
    • some ice-related item will spawn near water, snow pile spawn at wild
    • Hypothermia.
    • unique drop from animals that can only obtained at this season.
    • unique animal that only spawn at this season, like white cougar, with some unique drop.
    • unique Inspirational that can only obtained at this season.
    • ice - talk about this later.
    • Crops harvest amount is 50%, and the plenty of your field will slowly decrease sue to the extreme cold weather
    • berries, nuts etc. will not regrow

  • unique Inspirational item may obtained from butchering animals, harvesting crop, gathering resources, etc. maybe should have some rare item like ambergris will gain proficiencies over time


Seasons and Thermal
  • during summerheat, if your thermal is higher than 30, you will get hyperthermia over time.
  • during heatwave, if your thermal is higher than 10, you will get hyperthermia over time.
  • during Windyautumn, if your thermal is lower than 50, you will get Hypothermia over time, but you will not be frozen.
  • during coldsnap, if your thermal is lower than 75, you will get Hypothermia over time.
  • during Blizzard, if your thermal is lower than 140, you will get Hypothermia over time.
  • swimming or something "water related stuff" should effect your body temperature.

ICE
this should be some major content for this season idea, during coldsnap or blizzard, there will have ice chunk spawn at river/lake, normal size at shallow water, large size at deep water, player can "mine" it to get ice boulder, just like lime boulder, ice boulder have different size. large ice chunk and get more ice boulder than normal ice chunk.
  • chipping ice boudler will get ice cube, some rare item like ice shard, etc.
  • ice boudler will melt in few hours at everbloom or other warm season.
  • add ice cube into water, berry juice, tea or even wine can make ice cold drink, drink this to fight hyperthermia! and don't drink this at cold day ¦]
  • ice cube will last couple min in inventory or normal container.

Ice related skill
  • ice miner: allow you to mine ice boulder from ice chunk.
  • experienced ice miner: allow you to mine large ice chunk.
  • ice storage: allow you to build metal ice box, use to storage ice cube, ice cube will not melt in this container.
  • Ice houses: allow you to build Ice houses, use to storage ice boulder, ice boulder will not melt in this structure.
  • ice statue: allow you to build Ice statue, Ice statue have a small radius let player near it fell cooler, last few hours and melt(will not melt at cold seasons).
    • ice box: different size, heavy and large, need copper bars and pigiron bars to build.
    • Ice houses: large underground(or not) structure, need hays, copper bars, pigiron bars, board and clay to build.
    • ice statue: use lot of ice cube, have a small radius let player near it fell cooler.

Others
  • large camp fire: large fireplace that have small radius let player near it fell warmer.


The conception about season related only stuff
  • for now, players are not doing some risky thing at blood moon, there should have some thing to drive player to do it.
  • its risky and dangerous, but you should have chance to get nice stuff in return.


maybe will have more, let's discuss about this :D

Add tornadoes that will lift players up and teleport them randomly.
Also, structures would take dmg or get destroyed.

These sound really intresting and would certainly add variaty.

I particually like the idea of useing twilight between the season changes, though i think 12 hours would be enough reather then 24. Maybe for witchs they suffer no drain in the light during twlight. It would be lovely if the multi lighting bug could be sorted as it would give us a reason to maybe build streat lamps and lanterns.

Would really be too much to have all of these, Locust plague seems cool though, fits in with the whole thing where witches are gonna become nuisances.

added some new idea and the concept about "why need more witch season".
but i know nothing about witchcraft and darkness, so i can't think any idea for it :(

thx! but i forgot to write the info about twilight :cry:
twilight should have some unique stuff to get, depends on its short time lasts, and drive more ppl go out explore i guess

the idea of those is trying to make new event, new item, just like Arcane Amethyst can only get at BM, rare item always be better to use or sell, isn't? :D
