fffad scammer

just fyi to those who trade with fffad. He claimed he was going to sell me 2 silver bars 65 each. i said ok and said one at a time and he took the first 65 silver and seemed like transferred to another account and then logged off. Not much to cry over just figure i would post it in case it will help others avoid getting scammed.

Apologies gentlemen, for re-railing this thread.

Although the original poster did not specify his city of origin, I believe this scammer is in Plymouth. A day or so ago, a scroundrel by the same name was peddling iron in Boston. When I cancelled a transaction with him because he demanded silver first (and seemed several types of shady), he began shouting I had scammed him. My advice to prospective buyers, to avoid such dangers:

-Try to trade with merchants who have trade threads on these forums. Because multiple forum accounts are not allowed, these merchants place a higher value in their repetition - once they are known as a scammer, they are unlikely to get other trade offers.
-If a deal seems to good to be true, it usually is. In this case, the buyer was offering silver for significantly below the current market rate.
-Avoid trading with obvious alts or offering silver first, unless you are dealing with a trader who has a reputable history. When two traders deal between each other, proper ettiquette is for the less experienced trader to place his goods or silver first.
-If buying multiple items and you're not sure the other party is legitimate, conduct trades for each individual item one at a time, just like the original poster did. This way if you do get scammed, it's only for a portion of the transaction.
-Don't buy from raiders. Rewarding their behavior only encourages more of it.

I'm fairly sure this is merely mod-trolling. However, on the off-chance you are sincerely confused, I recommend you review the concept of an incentive (specifically, a remunerative incentive - wikipedia or a dictionary should suffice). Then, for further reading, see this document.
