I personally believe all of this is going to cost the Republicans the House (and maybe the Senate, but that's harder in 2018 due to so many Dem seats up) and at that point the Dem's will open up a well earned Tsunami on Trump.
I never said when I thought the investigation would be over. One hopes they'll be quick and efficient about it, but it could very well drag on for years. By which time it will have become a joke.
It's actually quite possible that the Republicans will lose the House and Senate, but it won't be because of these hearings. It will be because of not fulfilling their election promises. Trump and many of the Republicans in Congress ran on a platform of getting rid of Obamacare. If they end up not doing that (and it seems iffy to me that they will) they will lose all those swing voters, Congress will become majority Democrat again, and Trump will be free to be as liberal as he likes, which is pretty liberal. I'm honestly perplexed why so many liberals like yourself hate him so much when he is very much a big government guy who is only playing at being a Republican.

Only idiots believe infowars is news. Infowars and Breitbart have both been caught up in the very same FBI counter-intelligence investigation as Trump's campaign for possibly actively working with Russian Media Propaganda to push stories. There are reports from the investigation of both of them either hiring or working with Russian bot companies to promote their sites on social media. It's not in this article but previous reports about the investigation report that Bannon himself had sent encrypted messages to people at RT when he was at Breitbart and before he joined the Trump campaign.

Claeyt wrote:Why are Trump supporters all of a sudden backing away from him and calling him :Big Government". He just promoted the most paleo-archaic radically right budget EVER. It cuts massively at basic programs such as Meals-on-Wheels and Federal Early Education Grants and shifted the money to military spending and tax cuts for the wealthy. How is this big government?
His health care plan literally takes money from the working poor who don't qualify for medicaid and older Americans who haven't reached the age requirement for medicare and gives it to the wealthy in a massive tax cut. How is this liberal or big government?
Claeyt wrote:the representatives ... are incapable of performing the job of actually governing. The last moderates of the Republican party realize this and are creating laws to try and deal with this fact. That's why the laws are such Frankensteinesque monstrosities and look so bad for America.

Well, I suspect you're only just now noticing that a lot of people, including me, have been saying this all along. I've been saying Trump is much more liberal than I would like him to be and isn't really Republican at all since shortly after he was nominated.
TotalyMeow wrote:Just look at the crap he's trying to pass to replace Obamacare. It's not much better and this is a terrible thing. This is our once chance to get rid of Government healthcare before it becomes too entrenched. This is the main failing of the Republican Party right now, not getting rid of that socialist monstrosity as soon as possible. Obamacare hasn't actually improved anyone's health and in fact has lead to behaviors that have caused our national longevity to do DOWN in the last several years.
TotalyMeow wrote:As for his budget, if you think he's cut funding to meals on wheels, you've been reading the headlines and not the facts buried in paragraph 14 of the article again. The program you're referring to provides about 1/10th of 1% of the total funding for Meals on Wheels, the rest is pork going to 'community improvements' in and around Washington DC and almost all of which is a huge waste of money. Your other assertions are similarly ill informed.
TotalyMeow wrote:We somewhat agree here, but for much different reasons. This is what is worst about our legislature right now. They're acting like cowards, afraid of the press, terrified into inaction and not doing their jobs. They need to suck it up and get moving. The ones taking the pansy road of trying to cater to liberals and creating the "Frankensteinesque monstrosities" you refer to are idiots and they won't be reelected if they keep up what they are doing.
Claeyt wrote:Let the Trump bashing from the right begin. I'm all for you now saying he's a mistake, even if you are just trying to distance yourself from having idiotically voted for trump in the primaries and in the general. Thank you for bashing him Tmeow. It helps us get rid of him and neuter his presidency that much faster.![]()
