Yeah, right? Good lucky paying for the massive claims you have without radar or the over priced stalls in town without it.

What about a learned skill that allows tracking of specific items, that make them glow in the game slightly. Have it where you can only 1 or 2 things at once, and drain a humour while it is at it(Slowly).

I've got a good idea, why don't they just make it the normal client since people are going to use ender's either way.

I doubt they would implement anything like that since the Devs support Ender's client, surprisingly. Would be interesting though to see how resource prices and overall gameplay would change if Ender's client never existed.

You need a 170x170ish claim to even cost 100 silver a day. I could probably afford to cover that just making cricket teams throughout the day, and I'm a newbie who doesn't have many ways of making money. Loftar said in the announcement thread that this change is meant to get rid of abandoned claims.

As for the radar, while it's pretty good compared to the default client that has nothing, that doesn't make it "overpowered". Due to how small some of the collectibles are, and how messy some of the ground textures can be, it's a wonder anybody finds anything without the radar. The radar's not overpowered, the lack of radar is underpowered.

Thank goodness the claim upkeeps are cheap at least. You do have a point and I suppose there's no other way to do it.

Salem is deemed "unplayable" by players that use the ender's client when they have to go back to default. Perhaps Enders should be the default option or the default should take on some more of the ender's client features.

As a side note, I have not tired any of the other 3rd party clients so I don't mean to say ender's is the best of them all, it's just the one I use over the default.

The reason the developers don't make Ender's client the default is that they would then have buy it from Ender and take over it's development. How much of their limited time do we want to lose to fancy client feature development.

The alternative would be to give the custom client developers access to the client (and server) changes before they are released and not release any change until the clients are updated. Thus making the new feature and bug fix release scheduling dependent on people who make the custom clients as a hobby (out of love for the game and the fun of making them) but who actually have a life outside of Salem software development.

Add to that the oddity I and a friend have noticed - things don't always appear on the radar. I've found Indian Feathers that were NOT showing on it. When I'm out foraging, my eyes flick to the radar now and then when I'm changing tiles, but they are far from "glued to it". I've even removed things like the berry bushes from the radar (adding show="false" to the XML lines), because they are clearly visible and just clutter the minimap. Especially in forests, where you can't walk without tripping over bushes.
